the first thing we offer him is a better quarterback, and a better team with a better chance to win our division. Cardinals will have problems with the 49ers and the Rams for a long time to come. If he wants money, he can go to AZ, if he wants market value with a chance to win, he'll come here.

Timing just doesn't seem right for #59 staying a Redskin.
I'd like to see him resign but only at a fair price. He'll be 37 and we will need to find his future replacement in this years draft in the 3rd or 4th round.

It is silly the way people act like these guys can never do anything again once thier playing days are done. After all, they got a free college degree too....should have taken advantage of that too. If London wants to play here, just sign. Stop saying its about respect and a last payday. Its about $$$$$ pure and simple.
I'm saying that he's getting paid for the last time to play football. I know that he is well compensated, and I'm not trying to ruffle feathers.

It is a business, and I think we'll meet in the middle. All I was really referring to is the growing sentiment that LF is not putting the team before himself. The truth is, he should've been locked up with an extension during the Vinny years. He was not.

Fletcher deserves some patience and understanding during this signing process. That was the opinion that I was trying to express.

Fletcher deserves money because he is an outstanding player and an outstanding person in general, but I do not want Shanahan to feel that Fletcher deserves to be thrown with a ludicrous contract, as much as I love Fletcher, he is 37 years old and if his contract hurts the team then he shouldn't be resigned. Fletcher is a game changer but he shouldn't be overpaid like some people suggest he should, it's about the entire team first, not our star player that comes first. That's why I am not concerned with the fact he hasn't resigned yet, because I want the deal to be done right so that the team is in a better position to win.

That being said, we really need to go out and get an ILB in the draft.

amen brother. This, and the fact that regardless of who we had, we were still 6-10 and 5-11 the last two years. I expect RG3 to change this and anyone else we've paid so graciously to come here. Hail to the Redskins, not individuals.

    1. OP had a baby, itll happen eventually when he can
    2. Fletch has not resigned, still in talks
    3. Bell has been offered a contract from the Bills to stay, but supposedly we are still in the running.

Tired of this Fletcher situation. By all accounts we've offered a fair deal. The ILB market has probably been softer than expected when we made our initial offer and there are very good young linebackers still available like Hawthorne, McClain, & Lofton. All of them would be here for a much longer time than London and would come at a comparable price. I'd give him a deadline and say take it or leave it. Why should we sit idly while he's obviously looking for every cent he can get?

"Tulloch signed a five-year contract worth $25.5 million, with $11.25 million guaranteed, according to sources. That gives Tulloch an average salary of $5 million a year"

So, Tulloch is much younger and gets this amount. A 3yr 18 mill. contract for LF is more than far. You bring in Hawthorne or Lofton I'm sure they will sign for what Tulloch signed for. Coincidentally, ESPN insider ranks that ILB this way.

    Lofton: 82
    Fletcher: 79
    Tulloch: 79
    Hawthorne: 74

London should not get more than a 1 yr deal with a team option for 13.
