Per RotoWorld: The player rep for free agent S Madieu Williams confirms he is deciding between the Falcons and Redskins.
He visited Atlanta on Monday after checking in with Washington last week. A part-time player during his age-30 campaign in 2011, he won't be signed to start.

Bucs released Tanard Jackson today. I see us making a move for him as well.. he's had some issues in the past and has been suspended a few times, but he is definitely a starting caliber safety. And the Raheem connection should be help.

Tanard Jackson is also a local kid. He grew up in Silver Spring, MD.

On twitter I've read a few people knock Ternard for his tackling this past season. He missed 2010 and the first half of this past season which makes me wonder how his tacking was in '09 prior to his suspension?

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d...headline_stack

Jackson was suspended for a year in 2010 for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy...The GM also reportedly was unaware of a failed drug test or impending sanctions from the NFL.
I can't really tell what the article is trying to say from that second statement - perhaps he has failed another drug test so Tampa knows he's in trouble again or perhaps the GM is saying he hasn't failed another drug test and this is unrelated to his former suspension. I don't know, he's a talented young player and would probably instantly be the best safety on our roster but we would be stockpiling players that are one strike away from missing a year. But Bruce and Raheem both have insider knowledge on him as a player and person so I'd be willing to go along with them if they show interest.

He's interesting. We certainly need to do something at FS for the longer term. Jackson might be worth a look if we can get him for cheap and if Morris recommends him. If he doesn't come here, then Morris doesn't want him, and that means we don't need him.

Considering he would likely come for the vet minimum then why not (if Morris give him the thumbs up). He's one strike away but we have little invested in him so its not similar to a Trent Williams or Fred Davis situation. If he messes up, he's out. Period

Ok what the fudge is going on.

TK and LL56 hinting at something pretty major about to go down.

Well it can't be the draft as thats pretty much a lock and its hard to see it being a trade given we dont really have much to trade with our 1st and 2nd this year already spoken for - not to mention next years 1st. Could be a player swap or a player being traded out?

That's what I'm thinking as well. Maybe try to recoup some of those lost picks too?

That's not exactly news. We know RGIII will be here. I've been talking to LL on twitter, that's all that is concerning. He's just having fun with all the people that are still worried about the Colts pulling a fast one and drafting RGIII because he knows it's not happening.
