He's been in denial for a minimum of 2 years. Not that Shanny is infallible but Mcnabb has lost all credibility with me for a while now. He's living in La La land. I'm glad he said it though as a reminder to the Shanny's.

I used to be a guy who defend McNabb as a good, classy guy. Even when he played for the Eagles and even when we all learned he wasn't a good fit here. Never again.
RG3 is probably reading this and thinking to himself, Please let the Colts draft me. Smh at some of these post.
McNabb might be the dumbest athlete Shanahan has ever had at QB. What's so wrong with fitting into a system? Just because he couldn't hack it doesn't mean everyone can't.

There'll be all kinds of comments bashing McNabb and maybe he is bitter....
But try to think objectively for once...and focus on the opinion...not the man
Does he have a point? Will Shanny try to fit RG3 INTO a system rather than build one around him?
That is McNabb's point...no matter how much you hate him, call him names...blame him for what happened. Argue the POINT he is making

And by the way, Cam Newton and pretty much most successful rookie QBs were successful because a system was not built AROUND them.

Sour Grapes, maybe, Mr. McNabb??
Maybe RG3 already fits his scheme. I felt like McNabb fit the system, he just didn't want to learn it/wear a wristband to help him out. RG3 won't make excuses, he's already twice the man McNabb ever was.
Also, where are all these excuses for Rex Grossman? Has anyone ever complained that the system doesn't fit his talents/lackthereof? The man learned it, didn't fight it and TRIED to execute it the way the Coaches asked.

RG3 is a draft prospect...of course he'll embrace anything. Doesn't mean the coach shouldn't fit AROUND him. This isn't gambling time
When he has as much or more success than McNabb and is in the league for over 10 years however, I doubt he'll want to "fit" into another system
Even Peyton Manning wanted to fit with the right offense and he's 1000x better than McNabb

Lol, glad to see First Take brings in free agent back up QBs as their guests. No wonder I haven't watched that show in ages. Perhaps Donovan is training for his next job, cause I don't see him starting another NFL games anytime soon.
Found this little tidbit from a month ago:
Free agent Donovan McNabb is "not seen as a starter by anyone I've spoken with," reports SI.com's Peter King.
Benched by three teams in three seasons, McNabb's best bet for finding work would be to embrace a backup/mentoring role. That's not going to happen, though, as McNabb emphasized this week that his top priority is "competing" for a starting job. Borderline delusional, McNabb has struggled with accuracy, mobility, arm strength, mechanics, commitment level, and conditioning over the past couple of years.

McNabb's true character will come out now that he's an "analyst", no agent or people to speak for him. He'll most likely end up calling arena games or midnight bowling and blaming it all on the TelePrompter. Amazing that the media has always labeled him as classy and professional.
