I can and WILL play Redskins games too in the future...
Here are Claiborne's comments on the Wonderlic. At about 6:37 to about 7:56.

Was not the best defensive back on his own team at LSU......just sayin.
Here is the initial call from the Cowboys to Claiborne after he was selected.

But was still the best CB in the 2012 Draft?
Claiborne is what made the Honey Badger do what he does.
When did Tyrann ever line up on the #1? Never.
All Tyrann did was free roam the field and blitz the QB.

Reaching hard here man. Reaching hard. If he shuts down Receivers and doesn't care, i'd hate to see what would happen if he tried.

Really? Because he blows off a semi-meaningless test he doesn't put any effort into his life. So I guess he just became the best CB in the draft by coasting by.
I get it, everybody wants everybody to be book smart, but there are other areas in life to prove that you are smart.
Gone, but not forgotten... RIP RP
Correctly or incorrectly, I suspect that the advice he got with regards to the Wonderlic are, in no small part, the work of Peterson. If you recall, Patrick Peterson, also from LSU, scored very low on the Wonderlic. I wonder if it is more of a cultural perception going on at LSU as opposed to the actual mental capabilities of the respective players.
The low score clearly did not hurt Peterson in the draft or in his Rookie season. I suspect that message was relayed to Claiborne by Peterson as well. Just a guess on my part of course.
It's difficult to accurately analyze the results of the test and how it pertains to play on the field.
However, it takes a certain attitude to score that low, and that attitude can come into play when his new team are all trying to get/be on the same page in meetings and the locker room. Could get bumpy, but I'm not saying it's impossible.
This reasoning is also what has made RG3 and Luck such great prospects. Whether you think RG3 is a great QB or not, it is hard to deny that you wouldn't want his attitude and charisma in your team's locker room.
Again, it's tough to quantify such characteristics. Without it, you might as well deem Madden 2012 as real life.
What will help Claiborne the most? Great coaching. That's what he's gonna need at the pro level. We will see how he fares in a few months.![]()
I believe that RG3 is going to be a great QB in your scheme. I would bet money on it. This even makes the pick of Claiborne even more important for the Cowboys. Technically, he is probably the best QB in this draft. He is exceptional in the Press. there are a couple of things he needs to improve on. He will sometimes open his hips up too early because he likes to jump routes but he will have to get a bit more disciplined with that. With Carr and Claiborne at the Corners, Ryan can now play the type of Pressure defense he wants to play. Figure that the Cowboys will also have Jenkins healthy and Scandrick as your fourth CB and the Cowboys will match up pretty well with everybody in the league from a coverage perspective. If Church continues to improve, I think you start seeing a very young, very talented defensive backfield turn into a real strength as opposed to a weakness as has been the case in recent years.
So he's dumb. He fits perfectly with the Cowboys.
But really since when has the Wonderlic been important for a CB. The guy's going to be a monster, it was a great pick for Dallas, but I think they could have waited and picked up 2 starters instead of one. They're not one player away, IMO.
