Ummm yeah, I saw gaffney drop tons of open look passes last year. He was awful the first haph of the season. Then moss got hurt. He obviously got more looks after that. Oh yea , let's not forget he had his college qb throwing to him too. Moss will be a way better threat to have with RG3 than that scrub Jabar. If u can get me a ham sandwich for gaffney and have a true redskin vet mentor our young guys. Well that would be nice. HTTR!

We can't accurately grade the performance of the receivers because of the terrible QB play last year. Having said that, Moss is head and heels better than Gaffney. He has better hands, agility and route-running ability. Plus, teams know how dangerous Moss is so the coverage will reflect it. Gaffney just benefits from teams focusing on Moss. Players like Gaffney are a dime a dozen, Moss is a playmaker. He may have lost a half a step, but that's still faster than most receivers out there. Also, I hate the way Kyle Shanahan plays him. He's so much more than a slot receiver and they're limiting his big play ability.

I still believe in Santana...i think he can have a chance to put up carreer numbers this year. I know Moss had plenty of drops...but when he came back off the hand injury...he was not in the best of shape, and was rusty...this year with a full offseason Moss wil be healthy and ready to battle in camp.

    Base:

    X-Moss
    Z-Garcon

    3 Wide:

    X- Morgan/Hank
    Slot-Moss
    Z-Garcon

    4 Wide:

    Outside: Morgan, Hank
    Inside: Garcon, Moss

Moss and Gaffney play different positions. Moss is our slot guy. We just signed morgan and drafted hankerson to play outside. I believe this is why moss keeps his job and gaffney is sent to NE for a 7th rounder.

Love this line of thinking, because it is in line with mine. Funny how that works.

It would be different if these guys were dead weight, but they can still fill a need. I'd be willing to bet that Cooley's extra time off has really helped his knee and that he will surprise a few people this year. Hail.

The least I could see us keeping is 7 with banks cut, because half of our receivers have injury issues.

Paul or maybe Armstrong will stay because he is a good ST players.

Austin and Robinson will likely be on the outside looking in, though Robinson still has PS eligibility and I don't think AUstin does anymore

I think we should roll with six wr's at most too. The extra roster spots can be taken by young O-linemen, either journeymen or draft picks. We can never have enough Olinemen, especially with Lichtensteigers injury, Williams is one bong hit away from a season long suspension, and We wont know how well Lichtensteiger is healed until he sees some action, and makes it though camp and OTA's healthy. I hope we cut back on a reciever or two and stock up on linemen.

I think Paul could take over Banks' duties. I do like Austin a lot though so if we do end up keeping an extra wr I hope its Austin.

All in all, having the problem of deciding which recievers to keep bc they all have promise and potential is a much better problem to have then the one we had last year when we were wondering who could even play. Looking back, we are in a much better position this season, and i think that is a testament to our FO and shrewd moves/draft picks made, and not giving away draft picks last season.

I think I would keep Moss no question over Gaffney. I'm sure they would be competing for a slot job and Moss is a better slot WR. He runs better routes and can change direction quicker than Gaffney in my opinion.

Gaffney in my opinion, much more sure handed and I disagree with others that moss runs better routes. Furthermore moss hasn't been that great in the slot, so keeping him to play that position is silly in my opinion

"Moss hasn't been that great in the slot?"

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought Moss played mostly in the slot during the 2010 season.

A season in which he caught 93 balls for 1,115 yds.

Yes, he plays the slot and plays it well. He doesn't have the legs for the deep threat anymore, but all the underneath stuff, he finds a way to get open, and generally makes a lot of things happen after the catch. I think he just possesses a lot more tools than Gaffney
