As the books went on I started liking the Hound and Jaime Lannister. Of course, Tyrion is a great character and Jon Snow story seems to be the most important in the series.

Also, as a minor character, I like the dude that could die and come back to life. Don't remember his name.

    Beric Dondarrion.

As far as minor characters go, I'm hoping Bronn, the dude Danearys was banging, and the Giantsbane guy have to be my favorites. Bronns a complete dick, but cunning as hell, as is Danearys f-buddy, and Giantsbane had a drunk hookup with a bear.

No one is cooler than the guy that gets drunk and booty calls a bear.

In book 1 I was a fan of Robert Baratheon, Ned and Robb. That has not worked out well

Now for major characters Tyrion, Jon Snow and Victarion Greyjoy. As for Minor characters, I'd say Lord Manderly. The North Remembers. Hell, I like almost all the characters, I'm happy that I don't have to pick sides.

Haha, I've thought that those 3 might be the same faceless man too, especially after seeing how easily an experienced faceless man changes his appearance

Oh yeah, Bronn is pretty bad-ass, and I love the Hound too.
I wonder if we'll see the hill tribes again, especially Shagga.
Manderly is pretty cool after the last book.
    And of course Mance Rayder.

Dude, it would be awesome if Syrio was still alive, but I think Martin basically insinuated that he's dead...of course, that probably means he's not.

I hope Victarion live long enough to uppercut someone with that hellboy arm of his, preferably onto a banquet table.

HBO website lists that Syrio died during his fight with Ser Meryn. I don't know if that was done with the approval of GRRM or not. I don't really see how Syrio could come back to the story, he just was Arya's entry into that world

I fully expect Syrio to return in the last book or even the next one. Just a gut feeling and based on the fact that almost always when a character "appears" to have dies, yet we dont actually see it or know for sure, they typically make a surprise re-entry to the story (and usually just in the nick of time to save the day for someone).

Of all the stories to follow in the books, I think my favorites are Jon Snow (whom Im now very anxious about) and Aria Stark. (Love her awesome assassin/spy role!)

Yeah, I dont think Syrio is dead either. Dude was whipping five other knights tails, with a wooden sword, and still was calm enough to instruct Arya to go upstairs and get out of danger. I think Jaquen and Syrio are the same person, but im not sure that he is the Kindly man in the House of Black and White.

Jaquen must be a serious bad ass though. In Harrenhal, he has both Rorge and Biter doing his bidding (Weasel Stew chapter) and when they are all chained up in the wagon with Yoren taking them to the Wall, neither even mess with him. Dude is the truth.

I think Tyrion eventually meets back up with the hill tribes as well, and tries a siege on Casterly Rock. I do like Shagga and Timmet, son of Timmet.

So do you think they will mess up Tyrion's face for the show to match the book?

I was kind thinking the same. I mean if they match to the book exactly it might be hard for people to look at his character.

Ive actually wondered about Tyrions nose in the series. If so, its gonna have to be a good make up job. How do you remove half a nose without adding layers to the face around the nose area? I guess it could be done with CG. I dunno.... tape his nose down and add some latex? I Hope they do. I like how true they have stayed to the books thus far. Cant wait to see the battle on the Blackwater for sure.

I think we are going to end up with the scar down his face, but no missing nose.

So I was re-reading the battle between Oberyn and Gregor because its one of my favorate parts out of all the books, (I was picturing how it will look on screen) and everytime Oberyn is taunting The Mountain with "Say her name!" and "Her name is Ellia!" yadda yadda ya, I kept thinking "My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die."

I mean, if he would have just cut the theatrics out, Gregor would have lost his head and Oberyn would have been on his way back to Dorne with Tyrion, drowning in Dornish red and hot Dornish women. Its a shame.

And, if memory serves me, Dornish men.....
