Oh, some of these same people that praise him now will become unbearable with their lack of perspective and objectivity.
If Griffin has a Stafford or Freeman like rookie year some fans will turn.
Heck, some fans will turn after a few rookie like performances.

Like you said before I agree that this offense is conducive to a QB putting up big numbers in the passing game. (591/605 attempts the past 2 seasons)
Griffin is such a playmaker that his passing stats plus his wow factor will keep him safe even if we don't win a bunch of games.

That I agree with, to an extent. I think that Griffin is worth it from a financial perspective because so many fans were/are losing faith in the team. I mean in fantasy football, we had/have nobody who I was even likely to consider drafting early. At best, I might take a fly on a Moss or Cooley or a Redskins D, but that's at best. If Griffin can develop a following similar to what Vick has, then it would go a long way towards helping the Redskins product (on and off the field). But I'm getting too off track.

I do think its a bit premature to start discussing this stuff, but what else is extremeskins for?

Because rookies make mistakes. I think Manning had 23 INTs his rookie year. (Doing that from memory.)

And I don't think RGIII is going to run as much as other people do.

There appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope it's not a train.

Only on ES could someone who is not on the team yet be expected to break passing records that are 75+ years old.
“I just wanted to say to the fans … in D.C. and across the nation, they’ve been great for us, cheering us on. At away games they show up in the masses and at home they really made it feel like a home-field advantage. We said this when I was in college, ‘We got a chance to sit at the dinner table and experience success and it was a good meal. But now we want to go back to get dessert.’ We’ll be ready to get dessert next year.”

Robert Griffin’s last words at the press conference.

This is the idea I've reiterated a couple times that is mindboggling to me as well. It's been SOOO long since we've had bandwagon fans. Talk about finally hopefully seeing redemptive days for those of us who have lasted through the Dark Ages. Better times are coming, kids, gonna be a fun ride.

Just want to make a note of how impressive Farve's record is-- If Brady plays for 5 more seasons, (generous considering he turns 35 this year) he would have to throw for 29 TDs each season to surpass 442. With Peyon's trade, that record should stand for at least the next 20 years.

Peyton only needs 43 more. That's two average seasons for him. I wouldn't doubt that Peyton breaks it in Denver at all, assuming he's healthy

You're right, I guess it is completely asinine to say that 25 multiplied by 9 is more than 187

Am I completely off here? I thought the numbers you posted were "franchise records"-- like how many TDs a guy throws for one team?

And thats just his TD's for the Packers. Counting Jets/Vikings he has over 500.

Think about how long ago he accumulated those stats and what the game was like then. To think that he is still the Skins leader with the great receivers/t.e's we've had and still just outside of the top half of the league when he was drafted just under a century ago is truly amazing and should be all the proof anyone needs to see just how great he really was.

You're right. I was thinking you were just talking about the overall records as an aside. My mistake.

Jay Schroeder most passing yards for the franchise in a single season? How much and what year? This guy was underappreciated and forgotten, veeryone remembers Doug Willaims though...

The thing is, Schroeder was kind of a jerk. And an underachiever. Everyone roots for the underdog; Doug Williams was certainly that.

You don't use three first round draft picks, and a second round pick, on anything less than a great player.

I just hope we give RG3 more than one season.
