Eh, it's not like he hasn't been able to throw strikes with his breaking stuff before.

HRod is our Rex until Storen comes back. On any given day, you might get Good HRod and you might get Bad HRod.

Looks like everyone in the NL East is at or over .500 now. All the more reason for us to keep our foot on the gas pedal.

I cannot stress how much I want to be those damn O's after our game against Pittsburgh today.

Man, anytime Strasburg or Gonzalez needs to get back into the league lead for strikeouts, we should just schedule the Pirates

And looking ahead, **** the Orioles. To hell with them, their owner, and their stinking city. I don't want to just beat them, I want to curb stomp them enough that their wives, illegitimate children, and parents (that disowned them for being on the Orioles) all feel it in their ovaries.

I would love to see the Nats beat the O's at least as much as I want to see them stomp the Phillies any time they play them.

Was there for the fun last night. Plenty of action with the HRs and a even Harper's fielding error. Good crowd. Fans love Gio. Glad he got the win. Love those blue uni's.

Yes, you do. You missed it the other night and saw the bad HRod show up.

On your other comment about the Gio trade: The dude is a beast.

If Gio can keep this up, he'll be in the NL Cy Young conversation. Making the package we gave up for him look well worth it.

Lol, glad someone in here knows what's going on. So I don't look 100% crazy. And I actually missed two nights--the Votto walk off and when Burnett had to come in

    Damn, wtf happened to Cole?

You know, I knew Gio was good and was a solid pickup for us, but I also wasn't sure if he was going to be worth what we gave up. I didn't realize just HOW ****ing good he is. I mean wow. Only 26 too. They nailed it.

There's something to be said for using a deep farm system to pillage low payroll teams of their best players. We should give HH a stroke and pry away McCutcheon from the Pirates for "prospects."

Seconded. I knew a little about Gio in Oakland, and I think it made sense when we got in a bidding war with Boston for him. He's been even better this year though than he has been in the past two. I really hope he keeps it up - if Stras can stay healthy, we will have quite the dominant 1-2 punch for years to come.

Man I would love McCutheon. Especially because he's a "Nat's Killer"

Don't forget Zimmermann, which is about as good as it gets for a #3.

Yeah, ZNN is a fantastic #3.

It's really a very, very good pitching staff from top to bottom with the exception of maybe Perry.

So, assuming the experts are on target with the return dates for Morse & Storen (let's say it's 6/15 for both) and no one else goes on the DL, what moves do they make to add these 2 to the roster?

And what if Lidge is also ready on 6/15. What do they do with him?

Here's their active roster if anyone wants something to refer to

    http://mlb.mlb.com/team/roster_active.jsp?c_id=was

I think Moore probably goes back down, so that's Morse. And then Perry for Storen. Have to think about Lidge.

Really don't know about Lidge. Stammen, Burnett and Mattheus have all been solid to great. Gorzelanny is Gorzelanny but he's our long starter. I think he goes down when Wang comes up, and Wang either fills his role or he takes a spot in the rotation and Deitwiler goes back to the bullpen to fill Gorzelanny's role.

I can't see them moving HRod down. They believe in him and they know that moving him to the minors will **** with his head hard.

I forgot about Moore being on the roster. I agree with you about HRod. No way they send him down. It's going to be a tough decision when Lidge is ready. Maybe they try to trade him?

On a different note, I was looking at the Nats Active Roster and saw Rendon's name. He has actually played in 2 games for Potomac this year (April 6 & 7). He was 2-4 with a double, triple & 2 walks. I didn't realize he had played in any games this year. They have him listed as being on the 7-Day DL.
