No one here disputes that winning is key to restoring interest and passion with the Redskins. The trouble is the Redskins aren't winning of course. How far off on the horizon is true contention? With the Nats you saw the plan and felt progress every year after Rizzo was promoted.

Also I disagree the Redskins ever truly bottomed out. We wouldn't have had to mortgage our future so heavily to get our QB if we had. This is going on year three of "a little worse than mediocre" and the only thing about the team that produces any hope is our rookie QB. Aside from him, we're treading water at best. Eight home losses in a row is just sad.

I wish they'd put an opponent away handily, though.

This is the playoffs. Games are gonna be close for the most part.

As Redskins fans, we are pretty much immune to close games.

But screw the Redskins, they couldn't get in done and my Nats did.

Getting the road win in this terrible playoff format is HUGE. Regardless of what happens - at least we won't be going home down 0-2 like the A's. God their fans are pissed about the format, and rightfully so.

Playoff baseball will give your heart a workout.

If they make it to the NL championship we will all need defibrillation devices close by while we watch.

I have to disagree with you here on one point. Very few people believed the nats were going in the right direction before about mid may. I know a lot of nats fans thought we were, but the casual fan still thought of them as a laughingstock.

I love it. Every pitch feels like life or death. That 8th inning and the last 6 outs were incredible.

Stress level for me as far as playoff watching

    1) Stanley Cup- At times you feel like your team will never score again

    2) MLB- See yesterday. It only gets better from this point forward. If the Nats advance, boy is it going to be some fun

    3) NFL- Honestly it still feels like a regular game. Football is football in that manner where the game and calls don't change very much in the post season and you feel that your team has a chance to score

    4) NBA- Having been to a bunch of Wiz playoff games mid last decade, these games, even the game 6 clincher vs Chicago, felt like normal regular season games in terms of game play. Yes the games are close and defense is tighter but you don't get that stress level of "oh my gosh we may never score a point again" Every team goes on a run
The hotter the heat, the harder the steel, no pressure no diamonds, we compete, we win

We are the next decade of the Washington Redskins

That catch almost makes up for leaving the bases loaded twice.
