In looking through various Cardinals boards, the consensus seems to be that they let us off the hook.
Apparently, many feel the Cards clearly should have won the game,,,because they're just flat out better.![]()

They had three base hits, all singles. They were basically given two runs in the 2nd when Gio went to Henri Rodriguez mode. Even their bases loaded no outs was aided by a Laroche error and Stammen hitting a batter. The Cards really didn't do anything offensively, everything they got for the most part we gave them.
On the other hand we had like five innings with a leadoff hit, had Werth up with bases loaded twice, and had Werth on 2nd with 1 out and didn't deliver.
If anything, we should have broke the game open.

If we get past the Cardinals I really hate that we have to face the Reds in the NLCS.
The Giants were such a great matchup for us. It looks like they were also a great matchup for the Reds![]()
The hotter the heat, the harder the steel, no pressure no diamonds, we compete, we win
We are the next decade of the Washington Redskins
A lot of folks don't know how good we are. Even with our amazing year the Nats have not been in the national spotlight. We don't lead sports center and our plays don't dominate the top 10. The average opposing fan don't know a lot about our team.
It is weird to have the best team in baseball and be under the radar, but we are.

Have they announced a start time for Wednesday's game yet?
I live in St Louis. The fans do feel they are flat out better than every other team. They think all of their starting pitchers are Cy Young candidates and that they have the best lineup in the NL. It's pretty hard to have a conversation about baseball with most of them.
