They've still done something that only one other area team has done...and they did it while most of us here were watching. So, I just took some exception to the slight.

Don't want to hijack the awesome feelings from today, so I'll fly this flag another day. Get the W tomorrow fellas.

Mark my words, the skins will win at least one SB with RGIII. Just about all of the great QBs get one, and it's only a matter of time before RGIII is the best QB and best player in the game.

I was stuck in traffic driving from DC to Fredericksburg... I was less than a mile from the house and called my wife to have the game on... I got to within siteline of my house and Werth hit it, and I definitely got goosebumps, bro.

I almost had to pull over I was so pumped up, lol.

I've got to say, Baseball is just my third favorite sport. But there is really nothing in sports like a postseason walkoff homer. Maybe a hook and ladder for the winner or some sort of crazy kick return full of laterals is equivalent in football, but how often does that ever happen? Maybe a buzzer beater 3 to win in basketball, but I'm not sure I would call that as special.

I hereby motion for that moment to forever be referred to by Nats fans as "The At Bat."

Come on Os. Hate the Yankees and I'm not going to lie, I would love to see a Beltway series.

Just got back. That was the best moment live since the blocked kick/Sean Taylor pickup and facemask game. Instant classic. Exhausted.

    Nationals PR ‏@NationalsPR

#Werth's HR provides DC with its first postseason walkoff win since AL Nationals won 7th game of '24 WS, 4-3, over NY Giants in 12 innings.

That's not the point. My point was saying "I'm a DC sports fan so I expect us to lose in the playoffs...well only one area team has made it more than once in the last 5 years and even they have come through in the clutch before losing. And the Skins don't make it so you can't cite them.

I believe the Redskins will be a good franchise again. I will always believe that, Eventually trends break. RGIII is a good start.

“With our backs against the wall, I wanted to say something that brought us together, a little band of brothers to go out and fight and see what happens,” he said. “I feel that was fitting.”

Players who weren’t in the clubhouse came streaming in. Jayson Werth, an early advocate for mascot Teddy to win the Presidents Race at Nationals home games, darted into the room to listen. Others did, too. Inspiration filled the room, players said.

“Epic,” Drew Storen said. “The stuff movies are made of.”

“I feel like if they’re going to keep me around and keep me here, there’s a reason for it,” DeRosa said. “So I’ve been in these games. I’ve grinded with guys. I’ve been on that team. I know how [Yadier Molina] thinks. I know how [Chris Carpenter] and those guys think in playing with them. If I can bounce anything off them, down to remembering the bunt signs, just stupid stuff. Sometimes guys don’t always want to go to coaches, they’d rather come to a player and work them through an at-bat.”

DeRosa read part of the speech Thursday, but added some colorful flair, as he always does, before and after.

“I think he dropped a couple F-bombs,” Tyler Clippard said. “That was fun. … He was reading right off the page. It sounded awesome.”

Is this thread for all of the post-season?

It looks like the A's will be eliminated tonight. Tigers took advantage given the opportunity, however it is pretty disgusting that in the playoffs two pitchers in the same game are given such different parameters for what the strikezone is. Verlander is fantastic, but the help he got on pitches off the plate was ridiculous. I hate when the term "working the corners" is repeated by the commentators, when 5 seconds before they acknowledge that these pitches aren't even close to strikes....

Sorry for the rant....just dealing with the harsh reality of elimination.
