Keith Law posted the top ten prospects for every team, but it's Insider. I'm assuming the four listed above are the top 4, but I wouldn't mind seeing the full list if anyone has access to it. I don't need all the explanations, just the names.
The #Nationals have agreed to terms with 1B Micah Owings on a minor league contract with an invite to Major League Spring Training.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...-first-basemanHe owns a 32-33 career record with an ERA of 4.86. Where he really excels, however, is in the batters box.
In 219 career plate appearances, Owings owns a line of .283/.310/.502 with 14 doubles, nine home runs and 35 RBI. He even won the NL Silver Slugger Award for pitchers in 2007.
Projected over a full season, that's about 25 home runs and 90 or so RBI.
A lot of people are sleeping on Matt Purke the LH Pitcher out of TCU. He was considered the 1 pick in the draft before he got hurt, he is my sleeper pick for a breakout season in the minors now that he seems to be fully healthy. I also like the 1B Matt Skole a lot. I think one of Rendon/Moore/Skole take over for LaRoche in 2015.
I think the Nats have a very solid farm system, while not very deep there are some really talented players at the top. Imagine if Lucas Giolito recovers from TJ surgery and becomes an elite prospect. Strasburg,Gonzalez,Zimmermann,Detwiler and Giolito on the same staff? That's not even fair.

Well, temper your enthusiasm somewhat. Strasburg and Harper are going to both need to be paid in a few years, and if the team decides it can't afford both, they're going to take the position player, so Strasburg might be in a new uniform.
As for the others...who knows. I'm hopeful for Giolito, but Moore, while showing power in his limited action, also strikes out a lot. I've read Keith Law comment, and he seems to think Skole is over-rated, and "old for his level" I guess because he's 23/24 and in A ball. I dunno, Keith Law knows a lot more about this stuff than I do. I think Rendon will be a star, but again, health.
Yeah if I had to choose, I'd go with Harper. But neither will be a FA for quite some time.
