Just blows my mind that people don't think the Nats are the closest to a championship in DC.

Oh, I thought you meant people that knew stuff.

The Nationals are the best team in their own sport today. They are the only ones who are a good bet to win it this season. And they are the ones who are the most likely to win multiple championships.

BHarp in camp early. I can't wait for ST to start...

VIERA, Fla. -- Bryce Harper arrived early at the Washington Nationals' spring training camp and declared he has several goals for this season -- there's only one he'll share publicly, though.

"World Series," the reigning NL Rookie of the Year said Thursday. "That's the biggest thing on my mind. I have goals in my head, but I'm not going to share those because people are probably going to think I'm crazy."

Just eff all the reporters that specualted about Gonzalez because of his denial behavior in this episode. If accourate

Also in the ESPN.com report is an update on Nationals left-hander Gio Gonzalez, whose name was discovered in the Biogenesis records by the Miami New Times last month. A source told Quinn and Fish that Gonzalez “did not receive banned substances from Bosch or the clinic” and is “the only Bosch client named thus far who did not receive performance-enhancing drugs.” Which would seem to implicate the other players who have been linked.

Gonzalez had urine and blood samples taken two days after that initial New Times article came out.

Looks like some Walter Johnson memorabilia going to auction for any old-time Senators fans interested. The Big Train was a man among boys during his playing days. His 90+mph fastball was unheard at that time. Oh, and his 21 year career was all with the Senators. Legend.

"WASHINGTON -- The ticket is for Row 1, Section B, Seat 7 of the Lower Grand Stand at Griffith Stadium. Game 7 of the 1924 World Series. The perforations are still intact -- it was never torn in two by a ticket-taker. It's the only one of its kind known to still exist.

It had been sitting for decades in one of 32 scrapbooks created by the wife of Walter Johnson, the Hall of Fame icon who on Oct. 10, 1924, was the winning pitcher for the Washington Senators in a 12-inning classic against the New York Giants. The victory gave the nation's capital its only World Series title to date."

A poster at Nats Park on the concourse behind home plate celebrates Walter Johnson. On it is a quote from Ty Cobb. This is what the greatest contact hitter of all time said about the Big Train:

"The first time I saw him, I watched him take that easy windup -- and then something went past me that made me flinch. I hardly saw the pitch, but I heard it. The thing just hissed with danger. Every one of us knew we'd met the most powerful arm ever turned loose in a ballpark."
