I did not know Omar Vizquel was still in the league. That guy has been around forever.

I think you were a little hasty with your last comment.

Haha, it was just strange seeing the normally super reliable Clippard being so wild.

Do we move Harper to 3 or 4 hole?

for those talking about shutting down stras, what if this is our year to win it? who in the NL can beat Stras, Gio, JZ and Edwin? power pitching and defense ride this out.

This is why people are ragging on you man...you don't sacrifice a potential HOF career to chase one championship. He's going to hit his limit before the playoffs even start, what is the Nats get bounced in the first round? You don't risk it. With him, Harper, the Zimmerman's, Gio, not to mention the pieces we have in the pipeline, there will be plenty of opportunities. Though as I've said before, I would rather he be on a hard limit for pitches rather than an innings limit, but you protect that arm for the long term.

Anyway, on another note, I had predicted we might regress a bit and go 6-9 on this AL East slate of games. Being that we're 5-0 currently, I may have to re-evaluate.

This is a ****in boring place if we talk about absolutely nothing. I asked a hypothetical question. This isn't a game thread. This is a season long thread. I ask questions to continue the conversation between games. How many of you do anything like that? There are a few only who do that in this thread.

For those complaining about the innings limit, it equates to 4-5 extra starts for the regular season. and it would be a Max of 10 more starts this year. Obviously looking at other young ones, Kazmir, Timmy L, verlander and others. The case can be made for both sides

Beat me to it. Holy ****, I can't believe he's still playing. 45 years old.

Here's a question: how close to the HOF is he? Not saying he will or should get in, just how close is he. 2800 hits, 3x All Star, 11x Gold Gloves. Actually he might get in for his defense. Especially since his offensive numbers are pretty good. .272 career batting average

nope. You have a formula that's worked for another pitcher on your staff who's being treated by the same docs. Using Stras in the playoffs can add a lot of pitches and innings. This year was always about 2013. They are ahead of the curve so far this season, but you don't break from the long term plan.

Im still on the shutdown Strasburg camp. We can still contend without him. Playoffs are about having 3 quality SPs and we still have that in Gio. JZ, and Jackson.

What's the latest on John Lannan? I completely forgot about him. Still struggling in the minors?

The team is very young. If it was a situation where the window was closing I'd consider it but they can shut him down, bring up Lannan if he's still around and see how they do.
