Oh and the Braves schedule will finally toughen up. They host the Dodgers this weekend, then they come to our house before travelling to San Francisco.
By this time next week hopefully we'll have a 6+ game lead on them.

a win is a win is a win.....and they earned a much needed day off with that 8-2 road trip.
"The Internet is like a herd of performing elephants with diarrhea: massive, difficult to redirect, awe-inspiring, entertaining, and a source of mind-boggling amounts of excrement when you least expect it" - I wish I had said this.
In a 5 game series where the nats would go on the road and face cain and bumgarner in sf and then Timmy L in game 3 at nats park, thats not easy. we might be down 0-2 with Edwin and Ross going game 3 and 4 at nats park.
Any more word on when Desmond might be back in the line-up?
Without knowing how he's feeling, I hope that's not rushing him back too soon. They're rolling along now. Espy and Lombo are looking fine up the middle. Let's be damn sure Desmond is 100% before he's brought back. And Lombo is making it verrrrry tough for them to decide to send him down just because he has options left... 4 for 5 today, .280 average, excellent fielding at 2nd. Could Tyler Moore be the guy instead? Or a bullpen guy?
Flying Vince Lombardi x x x x x x x x x x x Ryan Kerrigan... Funky-style
Because of the screwy divisional series format this year, that's why its not the worst thing in the world for the Braves playing well and keeping on the Nats heels. Its almost at the point where it would be far from the worst thing in the world for Atlanta to ultimately take the division, just as long as the Nats get the top wild-card spot. As much as I hate the fact that the two WC teams will play one lousy game to see who advances, it'd be a buzzworthy game this season at Nats Park. And if the Nats win that, they immediately follow up with Games 1 and 2 of the NLDS at home.

Looking at the next series, I'm glad we're missing Dickey. Johan Santana has been absolute **** his past four starts, Niese doesn't worry me, and Chris Young sucks. We should take at least 2 of 3 from the Mets; then it's time for the big showdown.
I wouldn't be opposed to starting Bernadina outright over Harper either. He's a lefty with speed and some power(not as much as Harps obviously).

Listen to ESPN Radio. Tommy John, the Tommy John, is going to give his Strasburg opinion at 10:30 am. This should be fun to listen to.
I didn't realize you got a M.D. when you had surgery.

The Giants definitely aren't out of anything. They are a good team too. The Nats are playing really well right now, and let's face it, their pitching is fantastic.
I thought Hunter Pence said it best when he answered a question about what makes the Nats so good. To paraphrase: They are really good at pitching and hitting.
