Another great win tonight! I still remember when the season started against hte Cubs how are offense was slow for the first month or so, how things have changed!

I scored some tickets for Strasburgs last home start this friday, mad excited for the game. The atmosphere is going to be great, everyone is going to be cheering him on, no matter what happens he is getting a standing O when he leaves the mound

They also added Chien-Ming Wang & Mark DeRosa back from the DL.

Garcia pitched 0.1 inning last night in relief of EJax. He had some heat in his fastball. Interesting note, FP/Carp said this guy has gone through 2 TJ surgeries. Looks like he's a lifetime ML pitcher (8 years). Last night was his first MLB appearance.

Can't see that. If something like that happened, he'd be the worst MVP of all time.

I can think of about 50 guys in the NL, more deserving, not to mention quite a few on the Nats that are more deserving.

I think its going to be McCutcheon, but I could see Bourn or Heyward (more likely) taking it.

Edit: Actually, I think Buster Posey is the front runner after looking at the stats a little bit.

Yeah the NL is loaded with some top candidates. 2 more I'd throw in there are Matt Holliday and of course Ryan Braun again. Don't think Braun will get it because the Brewers haven't been good, but his numbers are similar to last year's when he won it.

It's too bad Desmond missed ~30 games. If not, he would have to be near the top of the MVP chase.

I don't think Roachy should win MVP either, but Harold Reynolds picked him to win it.

I think if Desmond didn't miss a month he'd be in the running for sure. He was on pace for 30 homers while playing great defense and being on a first place club.

Any combination of Nats wins and Atlanta losses totaling 20 wins the division for the Nats. For example, last night the number was 22. We won and Atlanta lost, so the number dropped to 20.

The magic number represents the combination of wins by the leading team and losses by the second-place (or tied) team that would clinch the division title.

I thought we'd be good this year, but not this good. I figured we'd contend for a Wild Card. The fact that we're the team with the division lead in September is still incredible to me. Is this the best regular season team D.C. has had since the '91 Skins? I know the Caps had a President's Cup Trophy team but that was a fairly one dimensional team. This team can hit, pitch, and field.
