I thought of my grandfather when I read this part. He was only a boy when the old Nationals won their last AL pennant in '33 and he cheered for a long of crappy D.C. Baseball teams. He would've really loved this.
My Grandmother made it to 97 before passing away......she was born, raised and lived her whole life in Philly. So, when they won the WS a few years ago, it was hard to not be happy that she was happy.

Then again, it wasn't fun when she'd call after the Eagles beat up the Skins to rub it in. What do you say to an old lady? Shut up, Granny!

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't recommend trying to order it from MLB.com either. I ordered a playoff shirt the day they clinched a spot and it's getting shipped today. Even if it says in stock now count on it being back ordered.

Looks good, Gio is my favorite player on the team I think.

I just went and picked up an NL East Championship shirt from Dicks Sporting Goods. May want to give them a shot.

i called the one in Short Pump, VA and they wern't sure if they'd be getting any in

i may have to get it after the playoffs.

    booo

edit: for the record, i kept waiting to buy VCU gear when they were making thier run in the final four. I didn't buy anything until they made the final four, then they lost, so maybe I'll wait and we will win a championship. You're welcome!

Had to post these pics. Bryce Harper celebrates with Drake Laroche and apple cider. As someone pointed out, Harper is closer in age to Drake than to Adam. Go Nats.

Bryce Harper celebrated NL East title by pouring apple cider on a kid and beer on his teammates

    .....
Bryce Harper is only 19 years old and once famously deflected an inquiry about drinking beer in Canada as "a clown question, bro." So how did the underaged baseball phenom navigate the alcohol-soaked clubhouse after the Washington Nationals clinched their first National League East title on Monday night?

Why, by pouring apple cider over the head of the young son of his team's first baseman — and by having it poured on his own head, of course.

Yup, apple cider. As the Nationals guzzled Korbel and Miller Lite, Harper shared a corner of the raucous clubhouse Monday night with first baseman Adam LaRoche's 9-year-old son, Drake. They eschewed bubbly for the sweet — and soft — stuff.

"I was drinking that," Harper said. "Me and Drake were pouring that on top of each other."

I'm heading up to Short Pump mall this evening. I'll check around and post what I find...

About this time last year I bought 5 Nats shirts at Target in Short Pump for pennies on the dollar: 2 red DC golf shirts (Washington across the back below the collar, white DC logo on the left front), 2 t-shirts (nice blue one with a sewn-on curly-W logo, 1 red with blue Nationals across the front), 1 white Nationals button-up jersey. I think for all 5 I paid ~$40 (2 of them became Christmas gifts). They were all MLB labeled products. I may run by there this evening to see what they have...

I will take Morse, that is my man.

Quick question to all... Do you think Davey will tank these two games to make sure he knows which team he is going to play? They were talking about this on The Sports Reporters like an hour ago.

I received an ESPN notification that Gio's start tonight has been scratched. And that he will pitch the first playoff game, with Zimmerman taking the second game.

I imagine LaRoche sits as soon as he gets 100rbi's. Harper's in to go after the age 19 homerun record, might see some violent swings from him tonight.
