God I love this team.
Glad this thread exists so I can let out all my emotions without blowing up facebook.
From Werth's Wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jayson_Werth
On October 111, 2012, Werth hit the greatest home run in Washington Nationals history. It was off of Lance Lynn of the St. Louis Cardinals and was a 13 pitch at bat in the bottom of the 9th inning to win the game and tie the series 2-2 and to avoid elimination.
BTW, Michael Wilbon can eat a dick. D.C. is a damn good sports town and the crowd today proved it.

Man, even Davey is saying he doesn't like slugfests. This team needs a carbon copy of today tomorrow. Good pitching, but better hitting though.
My GF doesn't follow baseball and she was sitting beside me on the couch on her laptop when Werth hit that bomb. Scared her to death with my outburst after that ball came off the bat. Probably scared the neighbors too. She must have thought I was out of my mind, had a look of legitimate concern on her face until I explained to her the significance of what just happened.

Zimmerman could probably go tomorrow in a pinch. 12 pitches today on his throwing day... I'd probably save him.
Those relief innings were just brilliant, Zim, Clip, and Bad Company were lights out. And Det has been my favorite pitcher all year for a reason. Pulling him for Wang costed us the 100 win mark in my opinion.
But I agree, we need more hits. Hopefully this game relaxes the players a bit. You noticed how much looser we played as the game went on. Confidence is key.

St Louis had us but they let us off the hook.
Time to end their season with an offensive onslaught.
As long as we don't fall behind by like 400 runs we'll have a shot.

You gotta love elimination games in baseball.
All hands on deck, starters coming out of the bullpen for an inning or two. Tomorrow night will be insane.
Hopefully Gio's head is on right.
DC Sports: The Curse Is Real
"Washington strolled to the NFC championship, outscoring their two playoff opponents by a combined total of 48 points. Their domination was more than impressive, it was historic. The 1991 Redskins boasted the largest average margin of victory among all Super Bowl champions."

I'm still flying high off of that one......damn this feels good.
