I actually could believe it's Irsay himself saying these things. He has no filter and had already been trying to downgrade Griffin on Twitter with the "RG3 refused to work out for us" comment.

Not to mention a certain Hines Ward was raised by a single mom. How did he turn out? The ****tard couldn't understand the distinction of being raised as a woman versus being raised by a woman.

I wonder if the guy talking about people being raised by single mothers not being tough would wander into say, South Central, and espouse that opinion.

Mentally tough and physically brave or tough are different things. I think even Whitlock has pointed out how one of Lebron's issues vs. say MJ or others, is that he never had a father in his life. I know the scout is speaking too generally, but let's not kid each other. One of the reasons RG3 is who he is, is because his father was there and disciplined and raised him right. The reason many of the guys who come into the league (or NBA) have issues or their communities of origin do is because they have no healthy father figure.

We can't praise RG3 and then in the next breath say, "it's not fair that someone said something negative about single parent homes." I know that it was vital for my uncle to step in when my father died to provide something of a male role model. And yet still I am worse for the experience (though perhaps stronger because of the sheer magnitude of the loss.)
