Default Welcome to the Redskins Josh LeRibeus G SMU

Welcome young man,to the B&G. Hope you have a nice long stay,(and productive at that).

    Round 3, Pick 8 (71)

    G JOSH LERIBEUS SMU

    Height: 6-foot-2

    Weight: 311 pounds

    http://www.nfl.com/draft/2012/profil...eus?id=2532891

    OVERVIEW
Leribeus returned for his senior campaign after being academically ineligible as a junior, and was the same scrappy, reliable inside blocker that he has been throughout his career. He has the size and technique inside to play early at the next level or be a reliable backup, which gives him fifth-round value as a guard or potential center.

Looking forward to seeing Josh line up next to Trent, the left side of our line is looking strong going forward.

Most of the pundits I have read say we over reached with this pick. I hope they are wrong, we will see. He is reported to be excellent in a zone blocking scheme so let's hope he has a new home!

He was projected to be a 7th rounder. Argh! Wish we would have taken someone with better potential and a higher upside.

sounds like the same crap the ES "draft experts" were saying about Jarvis Jenkins last draft

give the players a chance, jeez

you'd think that last draft and us now landing RG3 would give at least some benefit of the doubt to the FO

It's important to repeat, what Shanny wants in O linemen is not what the draft pundits want in O linemen.

Their round projection is irrelevant to Shanny.

I like this pick and I trust Shanahan's take on OL more than 99.9% of the experts/pundits/coaches out there. This guy could be a day 1 starter depending on if Lichtensteiger can't regain his form.

I love this pick! Looking at his pro day interview on youtube and he seems smart, funny and willing. I have a feeling he will become a cooley 2.0 in terms of his funny attitude and will be a fan favorite for years. Plus he said he became a texans fan to spite his mom who is a cowboys fan and now hes a redskin! I LOVE "RIBS"!

Giving Shanny & co. the benefit of the doubt on this one. I hope he fits in well and becomes a fixture on the oline for many years. There were many prospects ranked higher, but they may not have fit as well in our scheme.

That's the right attitude IMO. Do you think Belicheck gives a crap about where the "experts" have certain players projected?

Heck, Kiper's big board today had some of the same "best available" last from the top of the 4th through the 6th, and a couple weren't even drafted, and that was his top 10.

Looks like we will be rolling RG3 out a lot. Nothing so far tells me this o-line is ready to protect a static pocket.
