The Texans released him today and the #12 is available. He knows the system and has shown flashes in both receiving and the return game. He is only 27, same age as Garcon and Morgan so he fits the new criteria for young guys who can grow with the team / Griffin III.

It will be interesting to see if the team picks him up. I wonder if the Shannahans knew this was going to happen and that made Gaffney's release easier to do. That along with the fact that his salary was higher than needed and he was going to be 32 this year.

I'd rather wait and look at drafting Moss' replacement next year.

Doesn't really bode well for Jones that Texans fans are actually pretty psyched that the guy is gone. That and he couldn't even beat out Kevin Walter for playing time, nor could he succeed on the outside even with Andre Johnson drawing coverage.
