It would be dumb to be called the Virginia Redskins. They've been associated with the name "Washington" for to long. Just like I think it's stupid for the Panthers to be called "Carolina", but I see their reasons for it now that I live in the area. They were trying to gain some fans from all parts of the Carolinas, but I think Charlotte Panthers is better.

Anyway, the only difference in fans of Maryland, Virginia and DC, are the tags that are on your car. All are the same type of people rooting for the Redskins. I live on the South Carolina/North Carolina border and the people are the same. Even the people in the Eastern Tennessee mountains.

    Maryland has two teams
    Missouri has two teams
    Florida has three teams
California has three and will eventually get another in LA.

VA has failed. I still remember how bummed I was when JKC put them in MD, but I know he tried to build in VA.

I'm good with the current compromise. Headquarters - VA; Name - Washington; Stadium - MD; Fans - primarily from DMV and other parts known and unknown.

My dad has been a Redskin fan since his childhood and I was born into a Redskin Household ! We are both from (and still live in) Connecticut. Redskins fans around here are few and far between. I'm in Giant/Patriot land and it makes me wanna puke!!!!!! I take alot of crap for my team, but I dont mind. My pops and I were made to route for this team. We love the Skins and represent all over CT. HAIL TO THE MOFO REDSKINS BABY!!!!!!

Pardon me if I'm wrong...where did the Redskins go "home" to celebrate their Superbowl victories with the fans? D.C.

And if it happened again, Bruce Allen wouldn't have it any other way.

They are a DMV team. People that visit here often don't even realize what state they are in all of the time. They look at it more as a homogenous area. I was talking to some people at National Harbor one time who happened to be from Texas. When I told them that I lived in Maryland they asked if I visit National Harbor often when I am in DC. I'm sure people that are not from this area think that the Pentagon, and NIH are in DC as well.

People from Virginia don't root for the Orioles during the national anthem.

The last time a man from Virginia owned the team we went to the playoffs all the time and won a few superbowls.

If the Redskins are a Virginia team, I'm all for it!

i'd say statewide, thouh, to be honest, there are more steeler fans than anything.
The Central to Northern Part of the state is filled with Steeler fans. The Eastern Panhandle is mostly Redskins-fans. Huntington - and to some degree - Charleston is connected to Cincinnatti, particularly to the Reds.

The owner lives in MD, it's a MD franchise.

Well I thought the original question would be our opinion of if the team is starting to become a more VA team. In reality your just checking to see where the majority of the fans are located.

Personally all my life the Redskins have had their training facility in VA. As far as I knew that has been atleast the 80's and 90's and I'd venture to say 70's or atleast late 70's. I have always found it interesting that they were called the "Washington" Redskins when their home office is in VA. But they played in DC for yrs. So I guess no harm no foul. Now their home office is VA, and they play in MD. I just don't get that. MD has the Ravens. Either move the playing field to DC or VA and call it a day.

I'm sure I'll be looked at as an idiot but I don't go to the games cause driving 3 hrs to get to it is rediculous. I'd rather stay at home in Va. I don't go to the summer camp cause I'm not driving 1 1/2 hours to Redskins Park either. My choice I know. But I find it funny how MD's and fans from DC complain about having to travel to VA for a few days out of a 2-4 week period when VAians drive to Fed Ex for what 8 games and spend 6 hrs on the road and have been doing so for yrs.

here's an idea..... DC ... build your stadium and move the teams home office to DC. Then let VA take the UFL VA Destroyers and make them a Pro team. Heck make them an AFC team.

Yeah but for the next one we will just make the parade an all day event and take it around the beltway so everybody is represented...
