Default Yahoo Sports: Karl Malone is still working harder than you, and is called ‘Disneyland Dad’ now (comments to story unreal)

I'm sorry, i know this is a feel good piece about Malone, but good god. Based on his past how can anyone have more than one or two good things to say about him in light of how he's treated his illegitimate children .. what kills me are the comments to the article glorifying this guy, unreal.

Anyone else feel the same, or should we "bury the hatchet."

Amazing how so much of his past with illegitimate children has been swept under the rug. He must have paid some good "hush money."

    Two things.

    1) That was a hideously poor job of attempting to write an article.

    2) If I start caring about what athletes do off the field/court/ice, I'll probably stop being a sports fan.

Care to elaborate for the uninformed? Did he basically ignore them, like so many others? How many did he have?

You could still be a hockey fan, we're good peeps . Actually, I've found more respect for players I hate on the ice because of who they are off the ice. Evgeni Malkin, for example, paid for a family's trip to moscow to see if their daughter, who was born without a left arm, was eligible for surgery to get a prosthetic. When she was found to be eligible, he paid for the surgery.

Malone impregnated a 13 year old girl when he was 20 years old.

Combine that with the other issues mentioned and you have one hell of a despicable human being.

Yeah, hockey players for the most part are OK. Honestly, I have a lot of respect for Brooks Orpik doing the "if you can play, you can play" commercial that's airing right now.

Clearly hockey players are better behaved because it's the most white-dominated sport their is.

When you say you don't care what they do off the court, does that go for positive things too? Or is it one sided?
