The Tailgate 250 Non-Mainstream Songs You Must Hear Before They Become Cool List
No offense to mainstream music (i.e. music you can hear by turning on the TV or radio), but there's also a lot of really good music being made by artists most* have never heard of. Let's roll with the same rules as the 500 songs thread.

I think the whole album is really good. As for hearing them before they become cool, this album was released in ~1994, and it's the only one they ever did, so if it hasn't happened by now . . .

This will be a good thread for me to find new music, but I"m rarely on the cutting edge musically so I'll likely not have anything to contribute. Looking forward to hearing some (more) good stuff.

They have been consistently hosting outstanding groups lately. I recommend checking the club out. It's getting to a point where you could just gamble on a band you've never heard and be satisfied with it. Whomever is booking the bands has hit a great vein of music talent.

I saw Silversun Pickups in the backroom of Black Cat. It was awesome to see them not only in a small venue but a small room in a small venue. Needless to say, it got LOUD in there.

Great thread idea. This will be particularly useful to a dinosaur like me who loves a wide range of music, past and present, yet in recent years has little time to actively explore for new music. It usually just falls into my lap from a movie or tv show or word of mouth or the occasional music review in high-end audio publications. The old days of my seriously listening to the radio for such are long gone.
