I never understood the obsession. He played in a Run-n-Gun system that got debunked against the big boys. I'll never forget that game. Then I was mortified when we picked him and buried when I saw that cult of colt crap. Where's all the other collegiate passing phenoms? Did any of the other UH,Texas Tech, or Houston QB'S make it in the NFL? No, because gimmick offenses don't work in the pros. Ask Tebow, you gotta be able to do it all.

Come on. Kaepernick has an NFL skill-set and is an elite arm talent, even if he hasn't fully harnessed it yet.

Besides his quirky throwing motion, Brennan also had a pop-gun arm. He was not a starting NFL talent.

- Apparently used substances while at UH, even on the eve of his Sugar Bowl disaster when he was exposed as a fraud
- Washes out of the NFL (wasted 6th round pick), UFL, and CFL
- Get's into a mysterious accident with his weirdo girlfriend that puts someone in a coma and almost paralyzes her but he doesn't remember what happened
- Gets busted for DUI and drugs (insert excuse here)

Man, that's a terrible turn of events. I was never a "Cult of Colt" follower, but I thought he may had some potential. Guess not. Although not from a football perspective, I do hope the guy turns his life around before it gets tragically too late.

And I never said he was. I was talking about the idea that "gimmick" college offenses can't work in the NFL. With the right talent, of course they can. NFL defenses can be caught off guard by them. The issue is always finding the talent to match the scheme.
