MattFancy, Towson are not CAA Champs. ODU is, but the AQ went to Villanova on tie-breakers.
The CAA got 3 teams into the FCS Tournament: #4 seed ODU, Villanova, & New Hampshire.
Towson beat both Villanova and NH. Finished with the same conference record and gets snubbed.
What're you cackling at, fatty? Too much pie, that's your problem!
It's still crap Towson didn't get in. Sorry but if you beat both teams, you should be in. Yeah it was risky scheduling 2 FBS teams, but come on.
I do agree that Towson got snubbed bad, especially when a team like UNH who wasn't that impressive all year gets in over them

They definitely got paid handsomely, but if you ask Towson fans would you rather have that money or a playoff birth and a chance to win the National Championship?
Also, it's funny how the AQ for the CAA, Villanova, has to play this upcoming Saturday in a first round game, while UNH received a 1st round bye somehow.
Towson isn't good enough to win the national champ. At this point, they cleared nearly $1mil for their two Div 1 games. That will go a long way towards helping their athletic dept. Which is thinking of cutting mens baseball and soccer. Not to mention going towards paying off the new arena they are building. Of course, none of it would have been an issue if they won just 1 more CAA game.
Part of me feels like most of the teams in the tournament were determined prior to Saturday's games.

I think UNH mainly got in because of their playoff streak, which is complete BS. I think Richmond also got hosed and has a little bit more of a gripe because they got to 8 wins.
Like you said Towson clearly needed the money, and they chose the money over a playoff spot. IMO I wouldn't schedule two FBS schools in one year because it drastically decreases that schools' chances of making the playoffs. Y'all needed to almost be perfect vs. FCS competition, and that was not the case this year. I definitely see Towson making the playoffs in the next 2 years with West in the backfield.
