great, but he has lost millions of dollars. The thing he loved to do, and had the potential of being a really good professional at or at least a high pick, is over.

I cannot imagine the devastation that will cause him and his family, but stuff like this should make people start questioning this NFL rule of 3 years after HS.

It won't make me question it. It sucks for sure, but it is a freak accident.

of course not, its not you or your family.

I see it, and see a guy who just lost a 10 year career and millions of dollars because he was not allowed to leave school early, or at least get paid while he was in school

I just hope he had an insurance policy to protect him, but I doubt that too since they are very expensive.

I'm well aware of that, and I feel bad for him. If his rehab goes well, and he doesn't have serious lingering effects (emphasis on serious, since no one is the same after an injury like that), he will have a shot at making some money in the future. He's not dead. And a one and done rule for the NFL might be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, not only because kids bodies are still growing at 19-20 years old, and they'll automatically be thrust into a chaotic environment where full grown 250+ men will try to knock them out, but because of the experience, maturity/mental toughness, etc it would take to play in the NFL.

Yeah sucks for this guy but i dont question the rule at all. The rule is great for the NFL and CFL. It ensures a level of quality and maturity of prospects entering the league and keeps the quality of CFL at a high level. The HS to pro rule in the NBA really watered down both pro and college leagues in BBall before the rule change. And some argue that one and done is simply not enough.

Most guys arent as talented as lattimore is. And of them a very small amount get career ending injuries. Does it happen? sure. And its unfortunated. But i woudnt change a great rule for that less then 1% of elite athletes that are victims of freak accidents.

not every player will get drafted

and Marcus Lattimore, as a freshman, was a top 10 pick. He actually lost some weight this year so he could increase his speed and alleviate the stress on his knees.

I think a few of the skill position players are ready after a year. The point is these guys should have the choice, instead of being told no. Either that or they should be paid.

or maybe have an exceptional talent exemption

Most sure shot 1st rounders have insurance policies. It is unfortunate, but the NFL has every right to define qualifications for employment. Being paid for college is a whole different topic.

I dont believe that is true. If they get one, its usually around their final bowl games. I dont think its true during the season because of how much it costs, and the players socioeconomic background (usually lower middle class to below the poverty line).

And my Ohio Bobcats lose their undefeated record by taking a sack in the Red Zone down 3 with 5 seconds left.

If you're down 3 with 5 seconds left you need to play for that FG

You could get a TD but you could also get sacked

    They are.

Gators lose, they were always one dimensional

They did blow it though...because Gators nearly ran it in for TD, but fumbled
