    http://espn.go.com/college-football/...al-orange-bowl

The Orange Bowl is close to a deal that will ditch the Big East and replace them with a team from the Big Ten, SEC or Notre Dame.

My take: the dominoes continue to fall which will ultimately end up in the Big East dissolving. The last card they had was the Orange Bowl. As far as the OB goes, this is a great move for them as now the game will have much more entertainment value not too mention money making value in bringing in teams with better traveling fan bases.

So, in his 2nd year under Dana H's system, it's not too unreleastic to see him continue to improve.

Do I expect a high 80's completion rate? No..but I suspect it will be in the low to mid 70's by year end. Plus, 5k in yards isn't out of the question.
he is also playing in the WORST pass defense BCS conference as well.

Did that hurt RGIII's development? Or his chances at the heisman?

    I'm not say that Geno=RGIII..but it's a valid question.

That said, I wonder how the scouts will treat Geno. He has the size, arm strength, mobility and he was a decent recruit out of high school. It's not like he has been created solely in college.

I suspect he will be a first round or, at worst, a 2nd round pick after the year is over. Then again, who really knows how the pro scouts view him?

it wont hurt Geno, it will help. My point was that his numbers are going to be ridiculous this year in the Big 12 and that should help his Heisman hopes.

and right now, dude is looking like a top 10 pick at least. Honestly, I would take him over Barkley but that probably wont happen.

I expect Matt Barkley to be a top 10 pick. Although with the last great QBs to come out of USC (Sanchez and Leinart) struggling or..doing nothing in the NFL, it might temper the excitement for him.

Personally, I wish for Geno to go to a good team (mid to late first round) and ride the pine (ala Aaron Rodgers) for a year or two.

So...any predictions for the WVU/MD "Border" war?

55-17 sounds about right to me.

That may be a bit generous. I dont think Maryland can do squat under Edsall. They seem like they'll be a lame duck this year, replace the coaches in the off season and come back stronger next year.

if the Terps can keep it within 30, Im taking that as a win.

Replacing the coaches will set things back and will not have the team come back stronger.

He will get at least one more year because of CJ Brown's injury.

Funny cause thats what happened last year when he fired both the offensive and defensive coordinators and they've already equaled their win total from last year. Im not sure if having 24 players transfer out will help his cause or hurt it.

We just dont like Edsall and we dont because he is a doofus who is in over his head and ran everyone out the program.

and WVU is gonna beat our ass on Saturday. Im just hoping the Terps can keep it competitive.
More or less I'm saying that the basketball team historically has had more success, plus there are pockets of times when the football team has been good, but there were alot of empty seats at Byrd on Saturday. I thought they never should have expanded the stadium.

yeah, expanding the stadium was a huge mistake. Felt that way back when it happened.

I actually think the success for bball and football is relatively even. Maryland doesnt make a big deal about its past like LSU (before the recent success) and other schools. Also, this is a basketball area so that is something to consider too.

I wont disagree that UMD favors bball more, but its unfair to say that we dont care about football. We do.

It wasn't my intention to say the fans don't care about football. I grew up rooting for the Terps and I went to the University of Memphis, so both my college teams are traditionally strong basketball schools. But with Turgeon's recruiting class coming in for this year and next, it's safe to say the basketball program is way ahead of football at this point. I wanted to give Edsall a chance and I did at first, but he's just not a good fit there.

    He isn't

And if they did like football there wouldn't be so many empty seats. Miami has empty seats but you can understand why. MD has empty seats because they simply aren't any good.

If you wanted to sell those seats out, should have hired Leach. His offensive attack would have those seats packed every game.

In hindsight I think we should have hired Leach. I was weary of his off the field reputation, then Edsall comes in and alienates the team with his crap, so I'd rather the team be happy and put up with Leach's off the field stuff then to lose and not be happy.

I'm officially on the WVA or Fla State bandwagons to beat the SEC in the title game. I'm rooting for one of those 2 teams to get there and knock off the SEC.
