Dude, check out the Irish.
I know Miami is an inferior opponent, but they're beat up on them pretty badly. They're beating them like a good team should beat them.

Texas is still a year from being ready for prime time.
You can see the progress, but still not there yet. Next year we will be back.

there's a difference between running the spread or air raid and defenses having zero respect (rightfully so) and being a joke. the more i watch CFB the more i become disinterested because outside of a few teams, there's not many scary defenses out there. It also gives me no hope of a non-sec team winning the national championship this year. to me, a fan of a team that has almost zero chance of winning any kind of championship, or sniffing a bowl, defenses are what makes CFB exciting to me.
i also think it's a joke that a top 15 team has a worse defense then Maryland (which is my team). You can say whatever you want about WVU playing bad, but Maryland held WVU's offense to half of what Texas did in West Virginia, and didn't get attempted on 4th down 5 times (completing 5 of those). At least MD's defense got respect from WVU's coaching staff (or the offense didn't get any respect from WVU's coaching staff, which I can live with)

so you are saying that, based off of the matchups with wvu, that maryland is a better defense than texas?

FSU is in danger of losing to NC State. I guess that paranoid FSU fan was right.

i would say that Maryland had a better game plan with inferior talent when compared to Texas against WVU. But maybe it's a case of the 2000-2011 Redskins, where the defense looks decent because the other team knows they only have to put up 25 to win the game.
and espn is in bed with the SEC.
