Which is worse? A SEC-SEC championship game or a championship game between Notre Dame (widely disliked around College Football world) and Alabama (dynasty dominating college football over last few years)

I lean towards the latter. I hope more upsets happen so that ND - Alabama game is not set in stone. USC has a shot to beat ND, but only if Barkley is healthy (and he probably won't be). Alabama won't lose to Auburn. Alabama might lose to Georgia, but as I said, I don't trust Richt. I just hope that game is a good game and not the typical Alabama blowout.

I clearly have nothing better to do tonight than think up BCS scenarios, but here is my favorite: Georgia Tech beats Georgia, Georgia beats Alabama, Florida beats FSU. Who plays ND in the championship game? Florida, Oregon, Clemson? Teams that didn't even make their conference championship game. It would be awesome.

I thought it was next year. Oh well. Don't care.

I do think it is funny that last week, we were freaking out because a half dozen teams were going to go undefeated.

Well IX, if you put it that way...

I would love for Bama to somehow work its way back into the championship game and humiliate ND...i'm talking destroy them, like 35-10.

Then listen to Mike and Mike the next day to hear what Golic has to say

Maybe they should just have the National Championship at the beginning of the season and save us all some time.

Anyway, there is a playoff next year so deal with it.
Never said Alabama wasn't deserving. I'm just sick of it. An Alabama-LSU title game was unwatchable last year. So would a Alabama-ND matchup. Who wants to see the same team playing for the national title each and every year? Especially one that is about as boring to watch as a team can possibly be. At least with a 'true' playoff system, there would always be the possibility of an upset or upsets. There's no intrique to college football. Same garbage every year.

No intrigue? Did u watch baylor and stanford this week? Johnny football last week? ND just about every week? The cocktail party? Thats what makes CFB great. Not the post season but the regular season is nothing but intrigue. And i hate to burst ur bubble but if ur tired of Bama and the SEC now, come playoff time it will be worse. Powerhouses in the SEC might not be able to go undefeated every year, but finish in the top 4 is almost guaranteed. And realistically the likelihood of an all SEC natty will increase dramatically in a playoff system. Well as long as the landscape remains the same.... But everything comes in cycles.....

Crazy how having the target on ur back greatly effects how these kid play week to week. Doesnt surprise me tht KSU didn't know how to handle the pressure. As a program they aren't used the spotlight. Thier fans, coaches and caliber of recruits aren't used those kind of expectations. But Oregon? Wow. Colored me shocked. They have been running thier mouth's for years. I figured they have been chompin at the bit for another chance for the big stage. I don't know if they choked or just completly over rated because they hadn't payed a real D all year.

Thank god for new life. RTR

By "no intrigue", I meant you already know how the story ends. Alabama has been head and shoulders above the competition the last couple of years. Yeah, no one would have expected both KSU and Oregon to lose tonight, but somehow everything usually works itself out where Alabama ends up in the title picture. And I'm not saying they aren't deserving, it's just that they are sooo boring to watch. I was really hoping it would be someone different this year. A KSU-Oregon matchup would have been exciting. Or I would have preferred either of those teams to destroy Notre Dame in the title game. But NO, it's not gonna happen. We're likely gonna get another snoozefest of a title game.

And if they had a true playoff system and Alabama still rose to the top, then so be it. I'm just sick of the BcS garbage. ANY kind of playoff system is better than what they currently have.

Think everyone knows the SEC will win it again. When Alabama didn't drop far in the polls after losing, I knew they would eventually slip back into it.

Hey, next year is the final season of the BCS and then it's playoffs.

Ok losing to Stanford isn't necessarily a loss but the point remains Oregon always loses a game down the stretch.

FSU's 1 pt loss to NC State is looking absurd right about now.

This year would be the perfect year for the four team playoff.

I really hope Notre Dame loses a game and we have four one loss teams. Nothing beats chaos in the BCS.

Guess I'm in the minority, I have nothing against Notre Dame. I mean, everyone knows I'm a Penn State guy but Notre Dame doesn't offend me; I kind of like the whole "fallen power rises back to prominence" angle. And there's no easier player in football to root for than Manti Te'o. That kid has gone through a lot and been stand-up through the whole thing.

Almost as absurd as the BCS computer rankings.

Last week Florida squeaked out a last second win, at home, against La-Lafayette and moved up (to an average of 3rd) in the computer rankings one spot. FSU with a late win, on the road, against Va. Tech moved up two spots in the computer rankings (to an average of 17th.) That is with two of the six computer rankings having them completely unranked.

The BCS computer model criteria does not allow for margin of victory to be used in the formulas. A 6-3 win counts as much as a 35-0 win does. Jeff Saragin's BCS model has FSU unranked. His traditional model, allowing for MOV, has them 12th.

At this point betting lines are a better indication of ability than the BCS computer models.

Well the good news is that with Maryland potentially leaving, the ACC's strength of schedule will improve.
