I'm a native Gator, so to even be yellin' "Go Dawgs" was severly odd for me last night. That hit on Aaron Murray was way wrong. Just sayin'.
Looks like I was right. Looks like West Virginia against Syracuse in the New Era Pinstripe bowl.
In other news. FSU versus Northern Illinois University in the Orange Bowl.
Sugar - UF vs. Louisville
Capital one - Nebraska v Georgia
Outback - South Carolina v Michigan.
Chic fil A - Clemson v LSU
Fiesta - Oregon v KState
Rose - Wisconsin v Standford
So yeah, many of the 2nd tier bowls are shaping up to be just as if not more exciting then the major BCS bowls.
...And I thought I couldn't be less excited about the Orange Bowl when I assumed we were playing Louisville. Ha and Louisville vs. UF?
I really wish they'd make it a rule that you cannot go after coaches that still have a season left, like they do in the pros. I just see this year after year when a coach leads his team to a bowl game, but quits and accepts another job while they still have a bowl game to play. There is absolutely ZERO reason he had to start at NC State today. And don't tell me about recruiting, because that's a bunch of baloney. It will take him at least a month to move from his home and move down to Raleigh, find a place, get acquainted with the campus, etc.
Redskins 2013 Opponents:
Home- Dallas, NY Giants, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco, Kansas City, San Diego
Away- Dallas, NY Giants, Philadelphia, Green Bay, Minnesota, Atlanta, Denver, Oakland
NCAA needs to address the coaching situation. Make a coach sit out a season if they leave their current job before their contract is up. We penalize KIDS who are changing schools because they are homesick/don't fit in/don't like the school. Why do coaches get to hop around wherever the bigger green is? And why do sanctions not impact the coach that permitted them? ****ing pathetic....

N.C. State will face Vanderbilt in Music City Bowl
RALEIGH -- N.C. State’s football team will end up on the same field as James Franklin after all.
The Wolfpack will face Franklin’s Vanderbilt team Dec. 31 (noon, ESPN) in the Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tenn.
Offensive coordinator Dana Bible will coach N.C. State in the bowl in O’Brien’s place. N.C. State has won its past two bowls, both over Big East opponents.

I agree with you guys. I don't know why it isn't like the NFL where you should have to request permission from the school to talk to a coach. You'd think the coaches would still have the decency to finish their current season including bowl games. I mean I understand where the coaches are coming from too. If they did that that is almost a whole month taken away that they could use to prepare their new team for next season.
I don't think he'd be up to speed by the time they play. They play in what, 2 or 3 weeks?
Pros seem to be able to wait until January or February. It's December, around the holidays. Nobody is doing much of anything. NC State players are getting ready for finals and planning trips back home. It will take Doeren time to move out of his old house (assuming he lives in Illinios) and find a place in Raleigh, get familiar with the facilities and area, before he even thinks about getting his team ready for the 2013 season. Hell, NC State still has a bowl game to play.

So who placed a bet expecting to see this headline this week. I know I didn't

Two Virginia Tech football players arrested after explosive device detonated in Blacksburg
Two Virginia Tech football players have been arrested after a small explosive device was detonated last night, according to a police news release.
Walk-ons Joshua Trimble, 20, and Brian Rody, 19, were charged with manufacturing and detonating an explosive device.
Police responded to the 1600 block of Patrick Henry Drive at 8:30 p.m. Sunday in reference to a report of an explosion near an occupied apartment, Blacksburg Lt. Steve Taylor said.
No one was injured in the incident, according to the release. Taylor said he could not comment on the type of the device or the reason it was detonated.
Trimble and Rody were released from Montgomery County Jail this morning on $2,500 secured bonds.
Per University Policy 1035, any student-athlete charged with a felony is suspended from athletic participation until the charge is dropped or otherwise resolved. Any reinstatement would be up to athletic director Jim Weaver.
Virginia Tech has not issued an official comment on the players' status yet.
If NIU beats FSU, it might take until next season for me to stop laughing.
