Seriously, they do have an impressive schedule this year.

    09/01/12 vs. Navy
    09/08/12 vs. Purdue
    09/15/12 at Michigan State
    09/22/12 vs. Michigan
    10/06/12 vs. Miami
    10/13/12 vs. Stanford
    10/20/12 vs. BYU
    10/27/12 at Oklahoma
    11/03/12 vs. Pittsburgh
    11/10/12 at Boston College
    11/17/12 vs. Wake Forest
    11/24/12 at USC
Looking at that, they'd really only need to add 1 more ACC game

Lol at ND putting Miami football back on their schedule once Miami went on the decline.

Now, there is no team with cache out there that the Big 12 can expand with. Nobody.
is there any school out there that any conference can expand with? no one is leaving the big 12 for the next decade, that is just about guaranteed. what teams are out there for any conference?

Allegedly the Big 12 was talking to FSU & Clemson over the summer and didn't close the deal.

I am aware ND has been irrelevant

But they still have some aura to me...they're ****ing NOTRE DAME guys...come on

Imagine them coming to Lane Stadium to play VT, or going to FSU and Doak...can you imagine the atmosphere for those games? The Pitt and Syracuse deals don't do much to improve the football allure of the conference. Both teams suck. But this is the best move since VT moved to the ACC.

I moved ND to the Big 12 in NCAA '13

One of the best things about that game is moving teams in and out of conferences. Promoted a bunch of mid-majors like Ohio to Big 12

Most observers have always said that the Big Ten would not expand again until they can get ND. Well that is no longer a consideration. Will the Big Ten consider other options now that they know they will never get ND?

But they're not really in the ACC. Like I said, if you look at their schedule, they basically are playing 4 ACC teams this year already: Wake, Miami, Pitt (soon to be), and BC. So yeah they'll play VT, FSU, and Clemson every so often. But none of those games are for the ACC title or even mean anything towards the ACC.

I read somewhere in one of those articles that the ACC also upped the exit fee to $50 million if a school wants to get out. Not sure I like this move (ND to ACC) without football being involved. A caller on the radio said if ND would eventually join as a football school, would the ACC consider poaching Penn State in a few years? He stated he thinks the Big 10 is kind of snubbing them right now as to not bring shame to the conference. I'd love it if ND and PS came to the ACC within 5 years. Is this another small domino that will wake other conferences up? It will be interesting.

BYU to the B12 makes a lot of sense. So does Louisville and/or Cincinnati. Hell even Rutgers would be an option, if the B12 wanted to get radical and move farther east.

With ND joining in full, this would provide somewhat of a fresh start for Penn State by simultaneously marking a major shift in college football by turning the ACC into a super-conference... it's an interesting scenario.

Except they have already committed to playing only 1 ACC team next year.

2014 might be the first year that they could schedule 5 ACC teams. The have 3 openings and 2 commits to play ACC already.

Yeah, I was intrigued by it. Even the hosts (local Charlotte guys) were pretty taken aback and agreed that might not only be a good move for the ACC to bring in PSU, but to give PSU a fresh start like you said.

The worst part of ND joining the ACC, you will find (current ACC alums), is that they will take the plum non-BCS bowls away from your more deserving teams.

Say good bye to the Chik-Fil-A bowl. That will now belong to a 7-5 ND team.
