    Famous last words.

I am sooo tired of watching this team underperform this season, especially at the qb position. I don't know what the point spread is yet, but I would be surprised if the Noles win and cover.

I mean, I get that response. I just don't see it happening. What's really bothered me is the consistency of the team, and yeah, I won't be disappointed to see EJ leave.

There is absolutely ZERO reason he had to start at NC State today. And don't tell me about recruiting, because that's a bunch of baloney. It will take him at least a month to move from his home and move down to Raleigh, find a place, get acquainted with the campus, etc.
It can be awkward for a coach leaving to coach his team in a bowl game. Oftentimes, the team probably doesn't want him to coach them in the bowl game. And who could blame them.

That's a pretty good hire for NC State. Wish him well.

I don't think they should make them sit out a season. But maybe the NCAA should make it where a kid whose coach leaves before his contract is up, should get to transfer and not have to sit out a season. Or do they already have something like that in place? Admittingly, I'm not all that big a fan of college football. Never will be until they put a true playoff system in place. The one they are going with in a few years is an improvement, but still not enough, imo.

Many people are coming out saying NIU is gonna give them a game, Shlabach included who always seems to kinda suck up to FSU. NIU is a sleeper yes, but they've played a heck of a season and I'd be willing to bet they're gonna lay at all on the line in the biggest game of the schools history.

Me and you are on the same level with this team. One thing I will say is that Fisher usually manages to get the team up for these bowl games. They started slow playing Notre Dame last year but I was impressed by the way they came back in that one.

EJ has to be one of the most polarizing QBs in FSU history. The guy is close to top10 in the country in passer rating. He has a superb completion percentage and he will probably go out near the top in a number of passing categories in FSU history. Yet he's on the verge of being chased out of Tallahasse because of his decision making. Fans don't trust him, and judging from some playcalling, his own coach who hand picked him to play at FSU barely trusts him. Something gives me the feeling though that at some point next year we may be missing EJ.

How weak is this year's Heisman crop? You've got a linebacker with a feel-good story, a freshman QB who's probably going to win it because of one game and a poor man's Tim Tebow.

Precisely why I said I think they shouldn't be able to interview until their season is over. Adopt the NFL rule.

Only problem i can see with this line of thinking is unlike the NFL, college football success is largely a product of recruiting. The longer a program has no coach and identity it greatly cripples thier ability to recruit and perhaps more importantly keep the committs they already have. It would be like the NFL denying access to coaches until after the draft and FA.

I already addressed this. Plus, students in High School and College are getting ready for mid-terms and finals and the college kids are already trying to figure a way home for the holidays. Another point, NOBODY should be recruiting from December 1st until the Championship Game. No need for it with the holidays coming up.

It will take Doeren time to move out of his old house (assuming he lives in Illinios) and find a place in Raleigh, get familiar with the facilities and area, before he even thinks about getting his team ready for the 2013 season. Hell, NC State still has a bowl game to play.
