ul-monroe and arkansas going into overtime. i've been watching this game since halftime, i got 50 bucks monroe pulls it off!!! arkansas backup is HORRIBLE and the warhawks are blowing up kniles davis. especially the way ul-monroe carved up arkansas' defense on the tying TD drive.

The initial contact really didn't look that violent. I've seen a lot more violent collisions and guys turned out just fine. Then you see the guy's lifeless body on top of the pile and your heart just sinks to the ground. I think some major praise goes to those team trainers/doctors and medical staff that got to him on the field quickly and were able to revive him. I couldn't imagine being in that situation.

I still haven't seen the hit itself. I know that I will eventually, but I just haven't gotten there yet. It's one of those things that, it's easy to say "Football is a violent sport", but you never think of it like this.

It's one thing to be talking about guys' ACLs and rotator cuffs. Hell, it's hard, but not unbearable to think about the dementia and the mental illnesses. They hurt, but you understand that the game takes a toll on the body and shortens your life by some years. That's a sacrifice many of us would gladly make for something we love. But this? If I read it right he broke his spine in like 3 or 4 places. How hard does that collision have to be? What are the implications of that sort of injury? It just has me all in a flux.
