Don't sleep on Geno Smith. I think he'll be a top 10 pick and likely the #2 Qb off the board. as for the skins 2nd round. OL and DB are the biggest needs. all the big time CB's will be gone. but we could get a big time safety. Reid from LSU or Lester from Bama.

I firmly believe that Justin Hunter is the best WR in the nation.
I would take our WR trio over anyone's, USC included.
Remember I said this lol.
For some reason, the player that comes to mind when I think of Landry Jones is Andrew Walter, former ASU QB.
Very hyped going into his junior season, had a disappointing year and decided to come back. People thought he could bounce back and become a top pick, and people were even talking about him being the first overall pick that year (2005), since the only other major contender seemed to be Aaron Rodgers, who had the Tedford stigma on him.
He came back, still didn't produce, and ended up being a third round pick and washed out of the league pretty quickly. GHH is going to kill me, but I think Landry's career follows an eerily similar trajectory.
GHH is gona' sit quietly and let Landry and another high powered OU offense talk on the field. All protected by a dominant line from last year that has gotten better by subtraction despite loosing the likes of Stephenson who I was never high on to begin with.
You can all thank me come season's end.
Hail.
The CNDD always has the best and often only open football discussion in this forum.
I'll try to keep my non-draft tangents to a minimum though.

Logan Thomas is going to be the FIRST QB picked in the 2013 draft
Looking over the current roster, and looking at the overall depth I currently see at RB, WR, LB and DL(which you can never have too much of), it really comes down to two obvious(atleast for me) areas of focus with that second rounder. DB and OL have to be primary focus, assuming that a stud like Teo or Knile Davis doesnt fall into our lap.
Now, if we see some solid progress from Ribs, Gettis and Compton, Id be happy continuing to get younger on the line and continue to develope depth on the line, eventually severing ties with J. Brown and possibly C. Chester. Monty has been a below average center so far this preseason. I know LeRebius took a lot of snaps at C early on in training camp, and reportedly did it very well. Could he eventually be our C of the future?
My views of the DB positions are a little more clouded atm. We currently have a handful of average vets getting the snaps, preventing the little bit of youth we do have at these positions from seeing the field. Crawford has looked like the big surprise at CB in moderate play time, but he is being blocked atm. The safety position is the bigger logjam atm, Gomes and Bernstein are really the only youth we have there. But, once again you have the likes of Williams, Jackson, Doughty standing between them and playing time.
I havent really started researching which prospects fit our scheme and may actually be available yet, but for me that process starts now.
I know it was a tad long winded, but I am really hoping to see us focus our attention on OL and DB early in the '13 draft.
I think Robinson shows the ability to be a starting LB, so we won't address that position. OL always makes sense, as I think Brown's career is basically over. The Merriweather/Jackson experiment is a risky one, and I really like Ray Ray Armstrong out of Miami.

Can Robert Woods from USC fall to the 2nd? Right now I'm thinking anything we do in the 2nd works. I'm feeling big on BPA for some reason. Even if its a running back (which I'm normally against drafting in the 1st or 2nd).
