Right now I've got the Oklahoma v Texas game on.
Watching some Lane Johnson 1st series. He's switching from left side to right side, on some jumbo packages. Almost seemed like he switched sides to face up against Okafor.
Holy cow, Oklahoma scores a TD, then a blocked extra point and returned by Texas: score 6 to 2 Oklahoma. Haven't seen that in a while.

Really want to tune in for Tony Jefferson.

And there's Jefferson. He moves like CB, with larger mass, muscle.

OK,
Brandon Coleman needs to enter the draft and the Skins need to get him. THIS guy is another megatron. He's a power forward out there at 6'6", he plays the X but moves like a Z, long strides, extremely long limbs. He's got great hands.
Currently has 3 catches for 75 yards vs Syracuse right now.
---------- Post added October-13th-2012 at 12:37 PM ----------
He creates separation naturally, took a wheel route seamless movement through the cuts / breaks, a 30+ yard catch down to the goalline.
---------- Post added October-13th-2012 at 12:38 PM ----------
Coleman will get selected early too, if what's his buckets from GT (stephen Hill) can get selected early 2nd round, so can this guy who has more production and game tape to back it up.

Wow Kenny Stills with a monster downfield block. Wowzzers.

I've seen Kasheem Greene throughout this year and I like the fact that he can line up stacked behind the line as well as rush from a standup in that Rutgers 3-4. But now I'm starting to see this Scott Vallone for Rutgers DE/DT/NT
Vallone 44 straight starts. Built like Adam Carriker.

So far Johnson is holding his own against Jeffcoat. Every so often I thought I perceived Johnson would slip off his blocks in the run game, sort-of lunge, but he's pretty good there in space on the stretch. I'm actually a bit caught off guard by the uptempo blitzkrieg of the Oklahoma offense.
---------- Post added October-13th-2012 at 12:59 PM ----------
oh my goodness, almost an absolute amazing play there, Coleman just couldn't get there. I'm impressed with his tracking ability though.

wow incredible INT by #14 Aaron Colvin

Renfree out, another RG3 concussion it looks like.
Well, now it's Anthony Boone's turn. let's go Blue
Damn safety on texas, Oklahoma is just pushing them around. It's silly right now.
---------- Post added October-13th-2012 at 01:39 PM ----------
Right now it's 48 offensive plays for Oklahoma to 16 offensive plays for Texas.
it's 36 to 2 Oklahoma with 3:28 left in the 2nd quarter. Yeeeessssh.
---------- Post added October-13th-2012 at 01:41 PM ----------
Nice ball by Boone. Ball can jump from his hands. Hew does look a good bit like Teddy B.
Oklahoma's offense tired of being almost constantly on the field !
Only dead fishes follow the stream. "Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned, and the last fish has been caught, we will realize that we can't eat money."
An INT, pick by Tony Jefferson, just a ball thrown up, easy pick.

Kasheem Greene undoubtedly looks better as a pass rusher than as a stack LB. His motor slows when he's playing coverage or when action goes away from him. He gets lax, slows the effort,
He just had a sack and strip (forced fumble). I like that he can play all around the field, but he's best as a pass rusher.
---------- Post added October-13th-2012 at 02:07 PM ----------
Ahhgghh, drop by Coleman, it was a TD if he holds on to it.
Love how Oklahoma's D lines up versus what they view to be pass situations. Texas was in a 2x2 formation and Ok lined up with 3 downl linemen and two backers in the box. They bracketed the inside receiver to the left side and left all of the others one on one. You take away bubble, slant and pretty much everything else from that inside receiver which allows your safety to narrow his focus to a couple guys.

Landry Jones made a very poor throw there, but his receiver didn't help him. The DB was in perfect position and Jones delivered the ball in a poor spot.
NBC sports network has boise st and fresno st.
Tune in for Phillip Thomas
__
CBS has Missouri and Bama. Want to see Richardson against that Bama o-line.
Thing is though about Travis Johnson, he's not quite as quick or sudden as Miles Burris. Just not the same athlete, not as quick twitch, regardless the stats.
Nor is he as violent as Burris, doesn't hold contain as well as he did, doesn't throw off blocks as well as he did, doesn't use his hands as effectively. That drops his stock a bit to me.

Fresno St. free safety Smith looking good just like Thomas.

That true freshman safety from WVU could be a superstar in the near future.
I watched this game and have seen a couple of other OU games this year. I like the way Landry Jones throws the ball, his arm strength and his accuracy (when he sets his feet). Heck he even moves better than most give him credit for. He has NFL size and physical skill set - 1st round skill set in fact.
But he makes too many bad decisions and does not react well to pressure either from the defense or the scoreboard. I would be surprised if he was taken in the first round and maybe the second - I see him as a 3rd or 4th round pick personally. He has potential but he needs time in a system and good coaching, but even then I'm not sure you can coach out his reaction to pressure.
I missed the Red River game, along with the last two OU contests due to that troublesome thing called 'life' taking priority; so I haven't been able to update Landry's progress. (GLARES at KD.).
But a big congrats to him today for becoming the winningest QB in Sooner history. Quite a feet when you consider some of the great signal callers over the years in Norman and some of those Championship teams.
Hail.
I donīt know how Matt Elam would work in the NFL against huge WR`s...but I think he might be a option in round two (althought we need more a FS cover guy).
He plays hard and with hearth. He might even be super smart. Remember hitting his own teammate against LSU. I still believe he did that to make sure the player didnīt get penitalized for a Personal Fault.
Quinton Patton vs Texas A&M had 21 catches for 233 yards, a long of 62, totaling 4 TDs.
Wow. Biletnikoff.

Patton is going to finish with some crazy numbers for just two years. I think he breaks 3,000 yards.
Part of me wants to just say, damn the torpedoes, the D will suck, let's build a complete juggernaut on offense for next season. Go out and get a RT like Aboushi/Matthews/Lewan, Patton, and Montee Ball with our first three picks and score 40 points a game.
We'll deal with the defense next year. In the meantime RGIII will look like the greatest young QB ever. Does that sound so bad?
As an aside, anyone know why Marquess Wilson has tumbled so much this year? I haven't followed his program at all nor seen him play this season. Why is he being projected in the third round now?

Look at CBS's wide receivers ranked in the top 100 this year:
10 *Keenan Allen
13 *Justin Hunter
16 *Robert Woods
26 Terrance Williams
44 *Da'Rick Rogers
48 *Cordarrelle Patterson
53 Tavon Austin
69 *DeAndre Hopkins
74 Aaron Dobson
80 *Kenny Stills
94 *Marquess Wilson
98 Quinton Patton
99 Denard Robinson
This is a really, really, really good WR year for the first half of the draft. You can probably get a beast outside starting receiver late in the third this year.
In general, I think the offensive side of the ball is way stronger than the defensive side in this year's draft. I think you've probably got ~ 15 WRs, ~16 offensive linemen, maybe 9 or 10 QBs, 3 TEs, and probably 9 or 10 RBs going in the first 100 picks.
"John Wall will never be as good as Kyrie Irving was in his first week in the NBA" - David Falk, published February 14, 2013.
I like the fact that Tony Jefferson can line-up vs Slot receivers and cover them. I like that he has had experience as a CB. His coverage skills are what attract me. He's able to turn and run with whomever he covers, he can swivel his hips around and change direct effortlessly. He moves more like a CB out there.
A safety like Eric Reid can knock your mouthpiece out, give you snotbubbles, he's extremely good in run support, gives out big hits. You see him often as an in the box enforcer type safety. Same with Swearinger.
Swearinger is going to get selected before where people are projecting right now. CBS says 4th or 5th round, no way. I don't think that's close at all, much earlier.
Jefferson provides essentially another cornerback on the field. He's not as big or as physical as Reid or Swearinger. He doesn't have the same kind-of killshots on tape that you see from eith Reid or DJ. Those two destroy people across the middle.
Reid and Swearinger have made plays in coverage from the deep middle, but I'd call their stock in trade as physical run supporters, more in the box, heat seekers across the middle on pass. More of a SS with Swearinger. Reid can play either FS or SS, but ... I don't know what the words are, you can see it on tape, when he plays, there's something missing in the coverage skills. Not necessarily a critique or detriment, just something...
For Jefferson he's not trying to fly up from 20 yards deep and destroy a RB. He can make solid hits, had some against Texas yesterday, in fact. But his ability to play man on a slot receiver, it allows for the base packages to be diverse and flexible rather than needing a bunch of sub packages. He can cover deep middle as well.
