So we should be bringing in the best of the bad?
Pass rushers still have responsibilities within the scheme. You don't just say "do whatever you want to get to the QB!" when third downs come around. Players still need to be rushing to the specified depth, playing contain, defending for draws, etc. It's not a whole playbook to digest but free agents brought in mid season rarely make an impact on either side of the ball. Sure it's possible he would succeed here. It's more likely he would be a liability.
So if it's the fault of the D-line and secondary that are causing Maybin and others to be terrible, what about our defense is going to change that? Could the lack of pressure by Kerrigan/Jackson/Wilson not be a product of the same issue? You can't argue that for Maybin without giving our players the same benefit.
At this point I'll be bowing out. We can agree to disagree. I've wasted enough space in this thread intended for draft discussion.
