Any one else feel that with this deep WR class we need to snag a dynamic slot receiver? Moss is showing how valuable that position can be in this scheme, but he won't be around forever and will need to restructure again to stick around in all likelihood.

Obviously a falling talent that can play on the outside could be more valuable, so if a guy with a more complete skill-set falls we should grab him. But if Tavon Austin somehow falls to the top of the second I think we should trade up for him. Hell, even the end of the first. I could easily see him being the BPA in that scenario, and like others I see us picking up a DB in FA and drafting another DB in the 4th or so. I'd rather see us invest in a play-maker (sorry darrelgreenie, I know you hate that descriptor being used on a prospect ) and a RT in the first two rounds.

Actually LB you know who hasn't been mentioned in here at all, I think, is someone who I followed last year, liked him and who likewise is flying under the radar this year, someone whom you could speak upon and additionally a person who I think should have a draftable grade:

Tobias Palmer

Has speed to burn, runs nice routes. I thought that he and TJ Graham made a nice compliment to one another. Though Palmer smaller, I felt like his ability to stretch the field and/or use his speed to separate made him a good quantity.

North Carolina State’s Palmer had 277 yards on kickoff returns and caught seven passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns.

Palmer went into the game with an average of 113.4 all-purpose yards. His big game increased that figure to 148.2, 22nd-best in the nation.

I would not be able to contain myself if we somehow got Tavon Austin. I know the skins need help at right tackle and the secondary but Austin would turn our offense from a good one to and absolute juggernaut. I would love to see him here in a Percy Harvin type roll

I agree, but would prefer Austin his ability to lineup in the backfield,return kicks, play in the slot would be deadly. Where do you think Reese gets drafted?

I would think Reese and especially Terrance Williams if he is there rd2 will get serious looks because of RG3.

Cleveland's play calling is absolutely horrible. It's amazing how unimaginative some of the play calling you see is and it gives me an appreciation of how good our play calling actually is...

They've got an amazing defense brewing. Plus they've got talent on the OL and at HB. They're on the cusp of being a good team if they actually had some coaches worth half a damn.

This is my first try and right off my head, so I probably made some mistakes. It's a work in progress.

How many of the safeties expected to go in the first 3 rounds are Free Safeties? I wouldn't draft a strong safety early...I'll take my chances on Meriweather coming back.

I would go Safety/Corner in the 2nd/3rd rd...or vice versa

See, I don't care how bad our defense looked this year, I wouldn't spend our second rounder on a S. I'd try to find a few safetys with a lower pick and draft the more important positions early, like LB, DL and RT. Those are where I'd be looking early because our pass rush has been non existent this year and we don't know how Orakpo and Carriker will be when they get back, Jenkins has not provided the pressure we thought he would and our defense has suffered as a result. There are other reasons (Fletcher and our ILB's coverage abilities, our lack of competent safeties), but like the old saying goes, a good pass rush can hide other defensive inefficiencies. Especially when we have a lead late (as we've had at least 4 times this year) and teams are in a passing mode. Out pass rushers should be teeing off, but instead we have no pass rush and that's hurting is.

I'd also look for a RT who can also play LT in the instance the Trent goes down. I hate single point of failure teams and right now Orakpo, Trent and RG3 are single point of failure players who can sink our whole team, or at least one unit of our team.

It is a treat watching the 49ers defense. I REALLY wish we would get a true 3-4 NT to make our defense click...we could kick Cofield out to DE in the rotation and keep our DE's fresh with Cofield, Carriker, Bowen, and Jenkins all rotating in, which could really do wonders for our LB's to make plays.

We obviously won't have a shot at the top NTs like John Jenkins from UGA or Loutulelei, but I'd like to see us take a good look at Jesse Williams from Bama and Kwame Geathers from UGA (if he declares). I like Brandon Williams as well, but have concerns just because of the competition he's faced. I think a true NT would do wonders for us defensively, though.

I want to like him, but I don't think he is anything more than we already have in Robinson, but he's probably a bit slower as well. I think his speed is good, not great. Honestly I would like to see Robinson return kicks. I feel if we go after a wr we need something different then Palmer.

Abso-****ing-lutely. We can grab a serious talent in the 2nd round. It may not be a need, he may not due much for us his rookie year, but damn if we can't use more talent.

We're a young team, we need talent. Look at our offense with and without Garcon. We need more WR talent period.

Eh, what really impresses me with their defense, is their ILB tandem. You don't know whose blitzing, you don't know whose guarding whom...and when they do, that guy is locked down. It adds so much to the D. TE's are a favorite for QB's to check down to. We've all heard of them being a safety valve. When they feel a little pressure and look to the TE to dump it off to, he's not open. That's when the pass rush hits home. 49ers smothered the Saints TE's, and that's not easy.

If we had better coverage of TE's, that Falcons game would have been different. I hope Keenan Robinson's injury isn't season ending.
