No thats not it at all, I've watched now 5 full games of him and I'm not the only one who saying the same. His 1st step is freakish and he's going to be a 1st round pick when its all said and done.

I think Dukes concern is more off the field. I don't think people should knock his size that kid plays big, period. He is a great blitzer and a turnover*and big play machine. Thats not even getting into his ability as a gunner and returner on ST. If put into a creative scheme like in Pittsburgh or the Jets where they will use him all over he will be a force. Any team that gets him will have a great special teamer and a ballhawking slot cb/safety hybrid that can be moved around and blitzed.
Thats exactly my concern. Its one thing to get caught one or twice and fix your issues, but we're talking multiple incidents and he still hasn't fixed his issue. Sure take him, but realize the risk is very, very high with him

If you're up watching the game, watch Datone Jones, Anthony Barr for UCLA. If you get a chance watch Freshman CB Alex Carter for Stanford, he's a local guy from Northern VA and already is a starter as a true freshman.

Yeah I actually watched briar woods alittle for a team they played. Carter is a player with great genes.

You can just see the next level ability with Brian Winters. He's been damn solid tonight.

Came across this article concerning some offensive lineman for free agency.

    https://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...their-value/2/

Branden Albert, OT, Kansas City Chiefs

Not commonly mentioned as one of the best offensive tackles in the game, Branden Albert has emerged in his contract year as a dominant player. Albert has a total grade of +17.6 (with a pass block grade of +17.0) on the year and has been a bright spot for the struggling Chiefs.

He is second in the entire league among offensive tackles in Pass Blocking Efficiency, allowing only eight total pressures in 279 pass block snaps. Included in those eight pressures is just one sack and that came on opening day, which is even more impressive considering the state of flux that is the Chiefs’ offense.

This is a decent list of upcoming FA:
    2013 Free Agents
    __

One name in there, Paul Kruger.

Plays for the Ravens, 3-4 OLB. He has accumulated 5.5 sacks last year for Baltimore and 5.5 sacks so far this year. Ideal for a cheap contract for an established NFL presence.

    read these:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Kr...an_football%29
He saw much more action in 2011 playing as a situational pass rusher, coming in and replacing Ravens veteran linebacker Jarret Johnson for 3rd down passing situations. He managed to rack up 5.5 regular season sacks in his new role, along with 15 tackles. In addition to this, he also recorded a sack against New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in the AFC championship game.
    __

    stats:
    http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/...37/paul-kruger
    __
    https://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...am-of-week-11/
Outside Linebackers: Aldon Smith, SF (+9.8) and Paul Kruger, BLT (+5.1)

Remember we count half sacks as full sacks. So six of them for Smith, who also had two more hits. That’s pretty impressive. Kruger was no slouch himself in picking up two sacks, three hits and five hurries. Shame he missed two tackles in the run game.

Looks like Albert has finally turned the corner. I know he wasn't very good at the start of his career. I don't think he's going anywhere.

Monk, Albert took about two years to adjust to LT and since then has grown into an elite player, particularly the last two seasons. He would be my no 1 choice in FA, but I expect him to be tagged. I was hoping for a big year from Bowe just to raise the possibility that they would tag him instead, but that obviously didn't happen.

Kruger's an OK choice, but I would prefer Antwan Barnes. 11 sacks last year, but can't get on the field this year with Ingram, Philips and Jarrett Johnson. Good special teamer, too.

Later today, Dec. 1, 2012, @ 3:30 pm, Cincinnati plays UConn.

There's a player for Cincinnati who I've just stumbled upon and know very little about, but I'm going to watch the game specifically for him (a few others too on UConn).

    His name: Greg Blair

    profile:
    http://www.gobearcats.com/sports/m-f...ir_greg00.html

    Class: Senior
    Hometown: Pittsburgh, Pa.
    High School: Schenley

    Last College: Lackawanna CC
    Height / Weight: 6-2 / 252
    Position: LB
    Experience: SQ
He's listed at 252 lbs, looks like he carries 260, maybe a touch more.

In a game earlier this year vs Virginia Tech, Blair had 13 total tackles, 5 solo in the Cincy win. Later this year vs Louisville, Blair had 19 total tackles, 9 solo.

For the year he has 58 solo, 57 assisted - 115 total tackles.

I've only seen this highlight vid of his from Junior College (Lackawanna CC)

^ - love the first cut from the vid above. 1st play, absolute blast and the crowd just goes "OOHhOOHHH"

Barnes: possibly, I haven't watched him yet. But in terms of his stats, those 11 sacks in 2011 sure looks like an outlier compared to the rest. I need to watch him.

I mentioned Kruger because feel like he would have a manageable contract.

Also to that list, I mentioned Cliff Avril previously. He probably will have a higher price tag than Kruger but I'm a fan of Avril's style and his consistent numbers. He has rushed in stand-up.

    ---------- Post added December-1st-2012 at 02:06 AM ----------

Also want to add another name to the free agent watchlist:

    Henry Melton

... watch out. I'm a big fan of that guy. IF people are talking about an athletic D-Lineman, want a 5-Tech that can rush the passer or a guy who can line-up in a 2-4-5 and collapse the pocket from the middle in offset 1 or 3 Tech ... Melton.

    He's put on 35 to 40 pounds since college. College = 260 lbs , NFL = 295 / 300 lbs. He's 6'3".

    ---------- Post added December-1st-2012 at 02:16 AM ----------

Melton has racked up 15.5 sacks in three seasons, as a DT with Chicago.

Free Agent in 2013. Melton actually has 6 sacks this year, had 7 last year.

    roto:
    http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5341/henry-melton
(dated Nov 17) In the final year of his rookie contract, Melton leads the Bears in sacks (five) [now 6]and quarterback pressures (15).

2011 wasn't really an outlier for Barnes, just a year he got a chance to play. He's like Kruger, a pass-rush specialist who'se not well-rounded enough to be a starter. He's just better than Kruger, imo. And more likely to leave his team even without the promise of a starting job.

Melton is a guy I like a lot, too. But he's going to be expensive and really a luxury for us.

And Avril is an 8 figure type of player. We can't go after a guy like that unless we're trading Orakpo or something.

Melton would be a nice pickup for us, there's some pretty good DB's too in that FA list. Just hope we can get some talent with the cap ramifications next year.

    what an amazing play!!!

    Trey Watts from Tulsa (22).

On a punt that was dribbling down the field, the UCF players were just herding around it, no one downed it ... Watts comes running from behind the pack, circles in-front, scoops up the ball and runs for a 50 yard punt return TD.

    WILD.

Another "big-boned" LB who I've grown fond of is Shawn Jackson of Tulsa (55).

Rambo with a nice hit to force an incompletion that would have been a nice sized gain. Perfectly timed. Showed nice range as well.

And now Jarvis Jones forces a turnover getting to the QB. Was either a sack fumble or INT at the LOS.

Both of UGA's play makers on defense showing up early.

That hit was shoulder to shoulder. If you get hit helmet to helmet you arent gonna have the awareness to turn around and plead for the penalty. God I hate that ****.
