And the Millner interception play was not pass interference in my opinion. The defender played the ball and has the right to do that.

Mallett was from Arkansas and he was looking to escape a bad situation in Michigan. Arkansas was a natural fit. I bet Alabama could have gotten him though if they'd had a starting job open and had recruited him. I believe that was right in the middle of the Greg McIlroy era though and he was entrenched for Bama.
So far as I can tell, the best QB Saban has ever signed was actually JaMarcus Russell. He didn't really get to coach him though as he took the Miami job. Phil Sims was a pretty big QB recruit too, but Sims not a Cam Newton or Ryan Mallett level recruit, and he couldn't beat McCarron for the starting job.
Les Miles has shown he'll open his passing game up when he's got a big time talent at QB, and he'll go after the really highly touted HS QBs like he did with Jordan Jefferson. The problem is Jefferson was such a failure and they've just had bad QBs since Russell.
I think Saban and Miles could get a big time QB to come without even changing his offense if they made it their top priority. Kids want to win and get to the NFL and Saban can make that happen. But the problem is they'll just settle for these dud QBs like McCarron and McIlroy who will take up the job for three + years and drive all of the really good playmaker QBs away to other programs. They think they can get enough talent on the rest of their team to make up for having a crappy QB, and really the formula has worked. The voters are on their side and they'll get to a title game for winning their conference and they don't have to play anyone worth a damn outside the SEC, even scheduling creampuff match ups at the end of the year.
But you saw what happens when another SEC team gets a stud QB, they win. They tear a conference full of crappy QBs up.
And mark my words, when the playoff gets instituted, the Bama formula isn't going to work as well any more. Particularly if they expand the format to 8 or 16 teams. Those schools will no longer have their current margin for error and they'll have to actually beat multiple good QBs to win it all.

Wisconsin is just belittling Nebraska right now.
The SEC won't be as dominant but the schools who get first dibs on the major talent in the south are going to be right up there year in and year out. I would however be extremely inerested to see the results if guys like Saban and Miles had to actually put some significant work into scouting rather than calling a kid up and saying Hello, Nick Saban, sign, goodbye.
Form that list these are the only guys I would want back:
FB - Darrel Young – WAS – (RFA)
TE - Logan Paulsen – WAS – (RFA)
TE - Fred Davis – WAS
OT - Tyler Polumbus – WAS
OG- Kory Lichtensteiger – WAS
LS - Nick Sundberg – WAS – (RFA)
NT - Chris Baker – WAS – (RFA)
LB - Lorenzo Alexander – WAS
LB - Bryan Kehl – WAS
OLB - Rob Jackson – WAS
LB - Chris Wilson – WAS
P - Saverio Rocca – WAS

Georgia's second level was pretty weak this game.
Alabama racked up tons of rushing yards in the second half doing basically two things: Double Jarvis Jones and run off tackle away from Jenkins. When they got in trouble was when they started using more balanced formations and trying to run between the tackles.
Where were the inside linebackers and corners and safeties? Why did they stay in man coverage when it was clear Bama was not going to throw the ball if possible?
I really enjoyed the battles between Jenkins and Fluker. Two of the biggest dudes in CFB battling.
My opinion of John Jenkins has actually climbed the past two weeks. I spent most of the defensive snaps watching him and Jones the past two weeks.
He played a lot of DE tonight and he stayed on the field a ton of snaps well into the fourth qtr and didn't wear down. He is much, much more disruptive and rangy than I heard about him. Last week he had a play where he just ran over about three GT blockers on his way to the ball in the backfield. This game he had one really nice penetration on that big 4th qtr stop when you wondered if UGA was ever going to be able to keep a run from going for 10+ yards.
Fat as he is, he can penetrate and he can get out and run. I see him as having the potential to play some DE and stay on the field in both the base and the nickel packages, which gives him a lot more draft value than I previously thought. If he can play at least 2/3rds of the defensive snaps, I'm thinking second round is very fair for him.
Jarvis Jones looked great tonight. He should win the Heisman and he should be the first overall pick.
My impression of Fluker tonight was that the game was basically him as a prospect in a nutshell. Dominant run blocker, shaky pass protector, wore down a bit late in the game. Jarvis Jones ate him alive one on one in pass pro. But Jones will probably do that to any RT. His run blocking was very impactful. He was holding his own against John Jenkins one on one and against the other UGA defenders he was getting great push. At the PoA he is a real mover and shaker. When he gets to run in front of the plays he can be brilliant. I'm think he was the block on Shawn Williams that sprung Lacey for that long TD. If that was him, it was just a thing of beauty.
Ugly looking lows but magnificent highs. He's a flawed prospect but it's hard not to be intrigues by his skill set.
I feel the same way about Rambo. Seems like half the time he's a liability, the other half a huge playmaker. He's active and seems to generally get the job done, but he's a pretty awful tackler.

That team is actually really good. Their season got off track with QB and WR and OL problems early. They should never have lost as many games as they did.

Attaochu is having an amazing game.
He's a hair away from 3 sacks so far. Really the third sack should be given to him. He's the one who got the initial pressure, knocked EJ Manuel off balance and stopped his scramble, and his partner just came up and kind of cleaned up.
Anyway, that's 9 sacks in Attaochu's last five games. The kid is a beast. Good all around linebacker too. NFL body. Best player on GT by far the past two years. I was hoping he'd fly under the radar and we could get him in a mid to late round as a Steelers style pick.
But I think he's shown up too well on film this year. I could see him going in the second round even if he comes out early. He already looks like a starting NFL 3-4 OLB.

I'd probably let Wilson go at this point. and maybe Rocca. Let a couple of kids battle for his job. And Rex I'd definitely bring back at the minimum.
Lichtensteiger is the interesting choice, imo. Is 2012 what we can expect from him, or do we think he'll get better another year removed form injury? What's his pricetag? How do we feel about LeRibeus and Gettis' abilities to take a starting job? I think those questions determine whether you bring Lich back.

Just a heads-up, folks should look into the Raiders punter situation.
They're a team on the verge of a total rebuild. The words "cap hell" have been uttered here on ES in years past, during the dark days of Vinny. It was even moreso the case there in oakland under Davis.
Since Reggie McKenzie took over, he's been bailing water trying to stay a-float. They're a team working with a budget just like the Skins, except the Skins have imposed sanctions on them. The Raiders just have some awful contracts: (palmer, seymour, kelly, mcfadden).
Needless to say they likewise have some major quantity of free agents for 2013, I've counted 25 so far. Now some are exclusive rights FAs and some are RFAs. Nonetheless, one of the upcoming free agents is Shane Lechler ... or maybe it ends up being Marquette King.
King was mysteriously placed on IR back in september, prior to the regular season, due to an "injured toe." People speculate the reason being was to stash him, rather than taking up another roster spot on the 53, because all-world punter Shane Lechler already locks it down. But to likewise not lose him on the open market. King has remained on IR this season. And this happens to be Lechler final year of his deal.
Lechler is 36, would be 37 next year. He's an 9 time All-Pro. His gross punting average is 48.3 yards in 2012 (top 5), for his career: 48 yards. Probably when all is said and done, he'll be considered one of the all-time best and he's still got it.
But you can see what I'm saying. The Raiders might not want to give out Lechler's final contract, they may just ride King's boot for the future. Or maybe they stay with Lechler and allow King to go.
King, btw, recorded a 71 yard punt in the preseason this year vs Arizona and added a couple other 60+ yarders. He's built like a position player, a safety.
Just something to watch.
McQueen, Dukes, and Monk. When are you guys going to have your first set of mock drafts ready?
