Well, that injury of his has been recurrent ...
You know, I've got some article with shanahan calling it a "tear in a different part of the muscle," but whatever.
Two tears, Two surgeries - same general Pectoral, around the left shoulder.
And one might also label the tweak of the injury he suffered in the pre-season as a separate incident, IDK.
So, it does concern me. To what extent, I'm not sure even how I feel. I guess that's debatable. But I think we agree on having a capable replacement ready.
saw a thread in the breaking news section about an LSU tigers cornerback Tyranne Mathiau. Would be a pretty good draft pick. Also, the writer of the article that was posted is a bad writer. he had a sentence about josh morgan and pierre garcon. then he says "neither her nor garcon". uhhh...her? josh morgan is a her now? wow.
Okay guys, what yall think of the secondary players for my Bulldogs?
After the TOUGH loss last night, I gotta start thinking about which players are leaving.
Here are our seniors :
Branden Smith - speedster at CB, decent on PR, undersized, not very physical. Had a lot of hype and performed well but I don't know if he's an NFL kinda guy. We used him on offense some over the years.
Sanders Commings - big, can play CB or S. Physical. Pretty darn good at the college level. I'm bad at projecting to the NFL so I have no idea where he will go. He was a playmaker at times over the years.
Bacarri Rambo - I hear he's a 1st/2nd round guy at FS. He had a little trouble here and there. Couldn't stop eating the weed brownies (but who can right?). I think he's got his head on straight after making some mistakes. Would love to hear what yall think about him.
Shawn Williams - Kinda the leader on our defense. Hits hard, fast. They were gushing about him last night saying he's NFL ready after running down (and missing) a tackle on a Bama RB. Plays SS but looks like a LB. Would like to hear what yall think on him too.
'Big Bad' John Jenkins is a NT that's a senior. He came to UGA last year as a JUCO transfer. He's listed as 6'3 358. Kinda underwhelming on the stats, but he's a monster. We run a 3-4 and the NT, from what I understand, is supposed to be kinda the least talked about player. Sacks are great, but Jenkins definitely opened up holes for everyone else by taking on blockers.
Of course you got Jarvis Jones as a junior and he should be gone. Top 10 still would be my guess, though he kinda had a bumpy year. Started off kinda slow, then got really hot, then cooled down a bit. Still played at a very high level.
We also have Alec Ogletree at ILB and he's a stud. He's a junior and I don't know if he's going or not. He's listed at 6-3 232. I'm pretty sure he could play inside or out. I feel like he could play safety. The guy is all over the field, hits hard, very fast.
Tavarres King is a senior WR who might get a shot. Georgia WR's other than AJ don't seem to show up much in the NFL. In recent memory Mohammad Massaquoi (sp) is probably our second best, and King kinda reminds me of him. Wouldn't expect much from him in the NFL.
I think with all these guys, they'll need a little coaching up. Great athletes but we have a history of undercoaching them. I don't think many of them show up in the league with the fundamentals down like you would get from Nick Saban's guys. Anyway, would love to hear from some of you more knowledgeable folks on any of these guys.
Eli Manning will be 31 years old when the 2012 season starts.Michael Vick will be 32 years old when the 2012 season starts.Tony Romo will be 32 years old when the 2012 season starts.ROBERT GRIFFIN III will be 22 years old when the 2012 season starts.
Is this the site: http://www.thewarpath.net/WarpathRedskinsCap.htm ? Cause it has some problems. For example London Fletcher is signed to a two year deal. Not five.
Neither here nor there, I was impressed with Commings press coverage at the goalline and his INT yesterday. I've seen his name floating around the later parts of the draft, 5th - 6th - 7th. Someone will bank on his upside, especially considering his size and length and how physical he looks at times.
It would be great to see him at the Senior Bowl, something like that would help his stock big time.
No site is perfect on stuff like that, but warpath has been consistently solid over the years.

I would let Rex hang around the Park as a quality assisant or assistant QB coach, but I don't want to waste a roster spot on a dude that isn't going to be active on gameday.
I know you guys would bash me for this but I really like Ed Reed in our secondary next year. He's a FA and is a ball hawk back there. I know he's over 30 but and is oft injured but our secondary would be vastly improved with him and then we could add some young players back there with him.
You can never have to many quality pass rushers.

2013 NFL Draft: Top small school prospects
DE David Bass, Missouri Western State (6-3, 258): Bass contributed immediately as a redshirt freshman in 2009 and has progressively improved each season. Last year, he broke a school record with 20.0 tackles for loss and led the conference with 14.5 sacks, one short of the single season school mark. Bass, who is one of the most decorated defensive players in program history, has 28.0 career sacks and is on pace to break several career records in 2012.
Anyone know of any vid/cut-ups of this guy?
