I don't follow the draft rankings as close as you guys but Montee Ball in the 4th seems unrealistic, but I would love it.
I'd sign DRC day 1 of free agency he has been a standout on a pourous Eagles team. Sign Quinn or Byrd pipedream and our secondary is improved a ton.
I'd resign Fred Davis hopefully discounted.
My pipedream draft after those moves
Rd2- Kenny Vaccarro
Rd3- best passrusher left period preferably OLB
Rd4- Justin Pugh
Rd5- Dri Archer
I'd also take the honey badger and Ray Ray Armstrong if available late.

Thats why I said pipedream lol but he size could knock him down a bit. I think he is better then Chris Rainey was last year. I've really been watching him alot lately since you brought him up. NIU did a great job on him with double coverage and keying him in the run game. All game shutdown then bam 60 yarder. That is what this team needs explosive playmakers that can lineup anywhere. Tavon Austin would be a joy but Archer is a nice consolation
I like Porter too but he's undersized. He doesn't have a home NFL position so I'd be surprised if he went in the first three or four rounds.

If I were the Chiefs I would trade for Alex Smith and draft Hankins or Lotuleilei in the first round. Then I'd draft a QB in the second or third round. Tyler Wilson in the second or Landry Jones in the third is better than Geno Smith at first overall.
Or I would consider dealing Tamba Hali for draft picks ant taking Jarvis Jones first.
Kansas City is loaded with talent, they could run the exact same offense as the 49ers if they got Smith.

As long as Bobby Turner and Mike Shanahan coach together I can't imagine the FO (Mike) denying Bobby at least 1 RB every draft.
I certainly follow the prospects. I just don't follow where they're projected to go as closely as the rest in this thread. I like to assess the prospects and rank them based on skillset. How that equates to draft round doesn't concern me very much.
I'm a fan of Theo Riddick, I like his skillset and versatility (even like the name).
My draft board:
2nd: BPA: CB, DB, DL/OLB (Pass rusher), RT, S
3rd: BPA: minus round 2 selection (unless pass rusher)
4th: BPA: minus rounds 2 & 3 selections + ILB, TE, RB + CB, DL, S (even if previously selected)
5th: BPA
5th: BPA
6th: Collin Klein (depending on the OC i.e. if we're still running a lot of zone-read stuff)
7th: Trevardo Williams (conversion player from DE to LB outstanding trait:speed)

I'd pick Attaochu if he were there in the third and I wanted an OLB.

To add to this list of conversion/later round pass rush prospects:
Willie Jefferson
David Bass
Meshak Williams
Kapron-Lewis Moore (not so much a true pass rusher) Wes Horton
Marquis Jackson
Trevardo Williams
That DL might hit the market, you never know. We've seen guys like Peppers and Mario hit FA. SF got Justin Smith in FA. I could see a guy like Dockett becoming available soon. But more than likely, we've got to get that guy in the draft so I don't see it happening until 2015 when we have another 1st rounder. I'm hopeful that we do land that FA and then get another DE with that 1st. Maybe go with Dockett, Jenkins as a disruptive NT, and a 1st round 5-technique DE.
As for the DB situation, I see us solving that for about the next 4-5 seasons this offseason. I really believe that promoting Raheem is the key to that. First, that move makes us a front runner for Talib. Talib is going to be great bang for your buck and we provide the best environment (coaching stability, coaching/FO familiarity, vet leadership, culture, etc.) for him to succeed.
Combine that with hopefully adding a ballhawk in Amerson or Vaccaro that can play multiple spots, but primarily start at safety. Raheem is a great guy to get the most out of them and help them make that jump to the league. Lastly, keep Hall, Wilson, Meriweather, and even Tanard in the mix. Amerson/Vaccaro and Gomes give us a little security to see how health and suspension play out.
There may be individual warts on each guy, but as a group, I could see Talib, Hall, Wilson, Meriweather, and Amerson/Vaccaro have great success because the complement each other. We'd have 3 ballhawk guys in Talib, Hall, and the rookie FS. Tanard would make a great reserve at both safety spots and let us run cobra packages or drop the rookie S down to the slot.
With our scheme that actually doesn't rely on elite secondary talent, I think that group can be great in this Pitt 3-4. And Raheem as a DB guy can get the best results from our weakest unit. He now has familiarity with the scheme and has advocates in Kyle and Bruce. I think he can maintain continuity while bringing some fresh ideas. Clearly Slowik has to go and I don't know if Burney is balking at Raheem taking over, but I'd consider replacing both with up and coming assistants from Arizona, Pitt, Baltimore, NE, SF, etc.
Point is that I see our defense becoming good next year and possibly elite by 2014-2015.
I can't remember where I read it, but there was mention of Denard going as high as the 2nd. It was right after him starting at RB and showing well. A lot depends on how he does in WR drills in the pre draft process, but I don't think he has to be outstanding in that area because he projects best as a change of pace back. If he works out as a RB, I could see him possibly moving to the late 2nd because this RB crop is weak. If they look at him as a WR, I see him going in the 4th because the WR crop is so strong. I honestly believe he goes late 3rd to a playoff team looking for a dynamic playmaker.
I'd really like to see us move up for another 3rd to grab him along with a FS and RT. Some combo of Amerson/Vaccaro/Rambo/Jefferson/Swearinger and Aboushi/Fluker/Brennan Williams along with Denard puts us in great shape. Again, I'm looking at Denard as a complement to Morris and Helu. Royster is gone IMO. Late 3rd and 4th is a fine range to look for impact role players
Yeah, this RB class isn't looking so hot. I think Montee will be the top back taken. Seen his name back in the 2nd round mix. I see him going top of the 2nd if he has decent workout numbers. Just too productive and his special talent is a nose for the endzone.

I liked the play from the ILBs last night. London missed a tackle that he always makes early then came back the next play and demolished David Wilson. Perry Riley had that beautiful stuff through the A gap where he came through like an animal. London has 102 tackles on the year (he does it quietly) and Riley has 88.
Neither of them are Derrick Johnson at this point in their careers, but they've been effective. The only problem we have is in coverage. Our inability to cover TEs almost lost us the game.
Also we're not getting home on our stunts and inside blitzes.
