Nick Fairley is an absolute monster. Jim Schwartz has his new Albert Haynesworth.

Lol...secondary help and a RT have to be top priorities in the off season. I know Hall wasnt 100% today, but the guy has been getting blasted all year. He needs to either move to safety or go. Safety, corner, and right tackle are the biggest needs imo.
Hopefully a stud safety will be available in the second and we can pick up Blidi Wreh-Wilson at CB in the third. This secondary is really pissing me off lol
Our first offseason was a mess and the second one didn't go much better. I think you saw the results in our records. But there were mitigating factors:
- Our first round picks worked out. We successfully added high end talent those years.
- We avoided costly missteps in FA. Indeed, we've had a remarkable success rate in FA.
- We cut bait on mistakes quickly and remained flexible.
Donovan McNabb was a big failure but could have been worse if we'd hung on to him too long. Grossman and Beck were big failures but we didn't tie up money in them nor did we continue with the assumption we could build around them. Jammal Brown was a big mistake but we're thriving now without him. Blowing up our 4-3 to switch to a 3-4 without the personnel was probably a mistake but we're holding on defensively because we were able to fill needs in FA and Orakpo and London were key holdovers that made the transition.
We had the flexibility to come in this past offseason and totally remake the team with a great draft class and a great FA class despite the bogus cap penalties.
Look beyond the first round picks, who have been tremendous almost immediately. Look past our big ticket contract in Garcon which seems to be working out. We've mainly done a great job getting cheapo talent and mid tier vets on good deals.

I think Hall is the least of our problems in the secondary.

Nick Fairley looks like Warren Sapp in the face.
Matt Stafford has been awful lately. His mechanics are all jacked up. His accuracy has been terrible and his arm strength looks poor.

Griffin has had two good games, only played in 9 of them, and got himself suspended for the final month of the season. He's nothing special. Wilson has been giving up just as many bombs as Hall, including one that lost us the Giants game. Difference is he's not as good and active in run support as Hall and he doesn't produce as many big plays. He's short and struggles to matchup with size on the outside in man coverage.
Deangelo is the best DB on the team period. Getting rid of him makes us worse than we already are.

Williams, Polumbus, and C. Griffin are all JAG's that we need to replace this offseason. They are all guys that need to be replaced by quality players if we want to take the next step, but that could come anywhere between rounds 2-4 or FA.
The question comes if we bring in a good enough CB to actually start on the outside, which we need to. Do we keep Wilson or Hall on the outside? I know Hall can play the slot, can Wilson? What helps us the most, besides Hall restructuring?
The big thing will be FA. if we can fill a couple holes in a cost-effective manner there, we will be free to make the BPA picks at WR and possible RB that are sure to present themselves in the middle of the draft.
It's weird to think that the only hole we have left on the OL is at RT. It opens up so many options to take intriguing, talented depth players to rotate in at other positions, such as skill positions on offense and front 7 passrushers, which you can never have enough of.

Don't have anyone better. Bad as he is, he's the smartest and most experienced deep safety we've got. Neither Gomes nor Doughty can handle the job. Bernstine, Merriweather, and Jackson are all gone. Pugh brought in during the season as an injury replacement and hasn't been able to win the job from Williams.
We've got nothing here. The position is as bad as RT. We need to go out and get a starting caliber guy in free agency because we can not count on Merriweather and there is no one else on the roster today. We need a guy who can start day one next season.

That whole team plays the most undisciplined football I've seen in a long time. It's one thing to play bad football, but to play undisciplined is another thing entirely. That coaching staff has let that team get lazy as hell.
Stafford has gotten lazy to the point of madness with his footworks and mechanic. He makes a living throwing off his back foot and side arming it when he doesn't have to. Stafford misses more big plays in the passing game because, rather than buying him some time, setting his feet and throwing, he'll just lob it off his back foot and hope for the best. Or he'll scramble and side arm it.
Dude is golden when he sets his feet and throws, but I get the feeling that offensive coaching staff figures "he's throwing for lots of yards he must be doing something right".
Drives me up a wall. It's like he doesn't get coaching or something.
If we blame Hall getting burned on Madieu than we have to blame Madieu for that Cruz pass too that cost that game. I'm not saying Wilson and Griffin are great at all, but they haven't gotten burnt as much as Hall.
With his salary next year, he does need to go because he is not worth it. He has to restructure for a lot less or he will be let go. Ideally, the whole secondary needs to be replaced.
Of course the secondary is worse if they drop Hall and do nothing else. The key is to REPLACE him with someone that can manage not to get burnt 2+ times a game. The safeties are top priority though.
Stafford is probably playing injured.

He is a due a pretty large sum next year. If we cut him, he won't count against the cap. I'm sure there will be a CB on the market that can give us what he does, if not better, that will count less against the cap next year. On the other hand, if he restructures, that's another thing...i wouldn't mind him being the 3rd or 4th cb...
