Phillip Thomas is a big time playmaker, similar to Rambo. That's why he is so highly regarded.

He finds the ball. 83 tackles. He can pounce on passes and make plays on the ball in the air, had 8 picks and 13 total passes defensed, probably more than any other draft eligible safety. Returned three picks for TDs. Also had 4 sacks and 12 TFLs, plus forced 4 fumbles. Impressive stuff.

I've said this on twitter all night, but the thought of a Bacarri Rambo/DJ Swearinger S combo has me drooling

Yes, he certainly filled out the stat sheet, but I don't think he'll particularly translate smoothly into the nfl. He's definitely not someone I would disagree with drafting, as I actually like him more than some of the other highly touted safety prospects. I'm torn on this year's class though, as I actually prefer the mid ranked talent over the supposed top talents.

You're right this draft is definitely loaded in the 2nd-5th rounds and an extra pick in those rounds would help us a lot. The question is whether anyone is willing to trade up to our spot. As of now there are 11 teams behind us with picks in the 2nd round so we'll see.

Also, anyone know where our picks are? I thought it was 2nd, 3rd, 4th, two 5ths, 6th, and a 7th.

There also might be a conditional from the Lions. Maybe a 6th or 7th round draft choice. That being from the Barnes trade that sent Barnes to the Lions for a conditional draft choice if he made the final roster, which he did.

Let's also remember that it looks like Morroco Brown isn't going anywhere so the talent that continues to be put on this team via the draft helps this team to continue to skyrocket.

At this point, we seem to be in the right spots to draft good players at positions of need. I like Tony Jefferson in the 2nd, since he's a leader with talent. Brian Winters looks like a great fit for the ZBS, and he should be available in the 4th round, though I wouldn't be surprised if we reach for him in the 3rd, as we seemed to have reached for LeRibeus.

LeRibeus wasn't as much of a reach as it was led to believe.

This question is sure to be asked at least 25 more times in this thread...maybe put the picks we have in the thread title?

Sav is not young and just thinking outside the box if his injury is of concern we might want to look younger at the P position.

Height-wise he's as tall as Josh Wilson, weight-wise he's actually bigger than Fred Smoot and Antoine Winfield when they entered the league, despite being shorter. Heck, Champ Bailey was only 5 pounds heavier despite being 3 inches taller. Matthieu certainly isn't ideal size, but I wouldn't consider him too small to have a role in our defense. For me he's the prototypical nickel corner.

Morroco Brown is the director of Pro personell I wonder how involved he is in college scouting (thats more Scott Campbell area of expertise). I am sure Morroco gets involved with college prospects but not until after the NFL season is over since his primary job is advanced pro scouting and pro player evaluation.
