I was always intrigued by TJ Mcdonald given his size and athleticism. He can literally do it all at Saftey it's nice to see him having pretty good practices so far
Went in blind and started looking at game tape on some FS. Not many games were available so I did best with what I could.
Phillip Thomas- Fresno St.'s (Boise St, Tulsa and Oregon so far):
Good at shedding blocks
Tackling is inconsistent; 1/3 of the time he takes bad angles and has poor technique , especially in the open field and other times makes great tackles.
Speed seems average
Seems hesitant out there; possibly lacks instinct/unable to quickly read plays
Coverage- Not much was shown in those three games but from what was there, there was nothing to suggest he is a ballhawk.
He was rated as the #3 FS at CBS sports and So far I haven't seen it in these games.
Eric Reid- LSU FS (Texas A&M, South Carolina, can't find any other ones from this year)
Avg. speed but big and burly compared to Thomas, despite them having similar height and weight reported on CBS.
Tackling- solid technique, only a few bad angles and misses
Reacts to the play faster than Thomas
Coverage- Seems solid so far, had a freebie INT and some break ups. Not many mistakes.
#2 Rated FS but performed much better than Thomas from what little I have seen
I like him allot. He's so athletic, but just needs to be consistent and focus. What round do u see him going? Myself 5th

This kid looked good today from the Senior Bowl practice. I watched OL/DL for awhile.

A big surprise was offensive lineman David Quessenberry (6-6 295) from San Jose State who like Fisher won most of his battles.

Eh, the more I watch other corners, the more I think Blidi goes in the 2nd instead of the 3rd. Blidi is one of the better all around corners in the draft who seems to be good at everything. There are a lot of corners who have potential but are unpolished or are polished but lack elite speed etc etc. Blidi doesn't really have a weakness.

Wasn't someone here talking him up recently?

I've been on the Quessenberry train for a while![]()

It looks like we're going to be in position to get solid contributors with our 2nd and 3rd round picks. Great news
Depending on the talent on the board when we pick @ 53? I hope they try to trade down slighty and then package one of the 'extra' 5th rounders to get enough ammo to have 2 late seconds or 2 3rd rounders.
