I fully agree, if Williams is there at 51 you take him and run away with it

It wouldn't surprise me to see us try to take that 2nd rounder and look to make it a 3rd and another pick, especially with how loaded the secondary class is

Don't know much about Zavier Gooden, but I'll keep an eye on him in the combine. I'm a fan of drafting/developing our linebackers instead of hitting FA for depth. I wouldn't mind spending another 4th or later on one. Depth matters, and with Fletcher's age, who knows.
Those guys looked good. I didn't take any notes on them though. Wheaton is a smaller type WR, runs good routes but imo like with any small WR he only fits with the right system/OC/scheme.
I thought Dobson looked smoother then Patton.

Zaviar has some cut-ups out there on youtube. I hope he's available when we pick in the 4th.

If Terrance Williams is on the board I hope the lets teams know we're open for business to trade down.
Parlay his value into more picks.

What is the draft chart guide say and what do you think we would have to do to trade up into the 2nd or 3rd? I wouldn't be opposed to us trading our extra 5th and a 4th for example to move into the 2nd and give us two 2nd round picks and a 3rd. That would really be helpful in plugging holes with quality players given the amoutn and talent still available in the 2nd and we still have another 5,6,7,7 for depth and gems.

It takes a good amount to move up, it wouldn't just be a 5th and 4th. If we want 2 2nd's it would maybe cost us our 3rd 4th and a 5th

I doubt very much a team can actually 'move up' without packaging a future draft pick or trading a current pick down then moving up from there.

A lot of times it takes a future first round pick to get back into the second round...

You could look at one of Vinny's brilliant trades just moving up in the 2nd round cost us our 2nd and if I recall the following years 2nd to land the mighty Rocky McIntosh.

I remember that Kyle was high on Kaepernick and probably has been working on this Pistol offense since he fell in love with him.
I sort believe if Locker had been there, we might've done it, but LL basically says that Locker was never really in the cards. He said that Kyle was actually really high on Dalton---makes sense, since he's sort of Matt Schaub-ish---but Mike wasn't thrilled about him. I don't remember rumors about Kyle loving Kap.

I think the board was probably Locker, Dalton, Ponder, but ultimately all the insiders said our big thing was getting a pass rusher, which we did end up doing.

The point stands though; using mock drafts at this point of the season to project where anyone is going to go is a futile exercise. Everyone's guessing at this point. Even the expers.

There is zero chance of finding anything on Kyle and Kap, lol. Everything I find for pages is about how the 49ers ripped our offense off, lol.

And as far as mock drafts, I get excited and upset about them at times, but I agree, no one knows what they are talking about right now. Especially this early and especially after the first round.

They also did a similar thing with Armanti Edwards...giving up a future 2nd to move up at the top of the third for him.

Even Kolb, who he got a small fortune for, had only 60% completion and a 1-1 TD/INT ratio in 2010.

The thing I feel most comfortable saying about Reid is that he can make poor QBs look "ok," but he still, like so many other coaches, hasn't found consistent play from any QB outside of the 1st round.
I am not sure if Kolbs is damaged goods now but it would be a cheap insurance for Reid to bring back one of his guys to KC to get things going.

I am sure the Cardinals would be delighted to get anything for him and I am almost sure Kolb will redo his contract to something more realistic for a chance to play for Reid as well.

really two interesting things to follow this FA before the draft.

Would Reid get his QB (Kolb?) and would Kelly go get Dennis Dixon in the FA before the draft?

If these two QB needed team goes QB then how far do the QB start to fall?

Didn't we part with a second to move up in the second round and select McIntosh?

Hey guys I wanted to share with you my latest 7 Round 2013 NFL Mock Draft I have the Redskins grabbing CB Jordan Poyer with their 2nd rounder, and have safety T.J. McDonald in the 3rd round. Though I think McDonald is much better, I get the feeling he could fall. Later I have the Skins addressing more secondary and OL needs. Let me know what you think.
