You're right, Vontaze only smoked weed that one time before the combine.
Complete joke if you think Vontaze wouldn't also have been busted with multiple drug test. The reason the combine is actually a more grave offense, to any reasonable person, is because you KNOW that drug test is coming, and it will cost you millions, and yet you're still a big enough idiot to smoke marijuana before it. Matthieu has nothing but good things to say about his coaches DESPITE
them destroying his draft stock by suspending him and felt so much team pride he refused to play anywhere else. Yeah, he made mistakes with drugs, but we're not talking hard drugs here, one former player estimates at least 50% of the nfl smokes pot. If Matthieu fails the combine drug test then we know they are equally stupid, but calling one player out for multiple random drug tests and saying that is more off field issues than fighting with your teammates, bad talking your coaches, AND failing a pre-determined drug test is... well, silly?
If suspension is your trump card, don't you think if Vontaze was actually tested he would have been as well? I mean, let's not be naive, Vontaze admits to smoking weed in college, so it's likely he would have tested positive multiple times as well, had he been tested. LSU was just keeping its nose clean by suspending Matthieu, the NCAA has handed out quite a few sanctions recently.
You linked an article that just said Marvin Lewis took a chance on a hothead Vontaze and it actually paid off. Doesn't try to disprove his off field issues or say he's more talented, so I'm not really sure what the point of it was.
