Oday Abouishi only benched 17 reps at the combine. There are plenty of DBs that can beat that. He really doesn't have much strength.

I guess Abouishi was a perfect fit playing for the soft, weak Virginia Cavaliers

On a positive note, my boy Terron Armstead benched 31 reps. The knock on him was competition and body strength and he showed the upper body strength today and the competition portion in the Senior Bowl.

The issue with Armstead wasn't his upper body strength, it's his lower body. Bench is just one strength measurement.

I wonder if any of the OL or DL have private trainers they work with before the combine like the other positions do.

Wouldn't WR-TE-WR be an example of Vinny attempting BPA? A lot of people had Thomas with a first round grade which also happened to be a need. We didn't need a TE but Davis was graded out highly, and if Thomas was the prospect we thought he was, we didn't need another WR but Kelly was allegedly graded out high as well.

You can find excuses for why they COULD have been the BPA, but the reality was Vinny was out for weapons for our shiny new WCO, no matter what. Kelly was off our board based on our medical Starr's evaluation but Vinny and Danny loved him at his pro day and they took him anyways.

Well it used to be that there were some Virginians who were kinda soft and sickly, but we got rid of that part back in the 1860s.

Nobody called them reaches at the time, in fact most people thought we got great value. If we had traded up for them, sure, but we traded down and got 3 guys who were borderline 1st rounders to many. Only one debatable was Kelly, but he was a guy who was high upside had he been healthy.
