Kind of surprised at Stedman Bailey's 40 time, I'd expected him to be faster than 4.52. Now, that's not slow, and he still had good 3-cone and 20 yard shuffle times, but still surprised since I figured raw speed was one of the things he was going to hang his hat on.
I even posted a couple of times in this thread saying he was flirting with the end of the 2nd.
According to others his devaluation goes like this: People associated his success to Tannehill or this year due to Klingberry / Sumlin's scheme & Manziel. They also devalued him because he's not the biggest guy and now people look at his small hand measurement. Also because he plays Slot not outside.
But the pro camp like me say: His routes are good. He's caught the ball regularly (but not the same technique as Harper). Harper has his hands out in front, very good technique and soft hands. Swope uses the body too much for my taste. Yet he makes the catch.
And as I said before in the thread, he has/had deceptive speed. He would rack up yards after the catch too. I also think you can put him in the top 15 of receivers based on what he's done at A&M. So I think that really verifies 3rd to 4th.
Tavon Awesome is all I can say.... that kid is sick
All I can do is look at game tape. If he's playing, I'm assuming he's healthy to be out there. If he was injured and playing then I just wonder about that whole situation. What lead to him playing injured? - And so forth.
What he did this year looked nothing like his Soph season. And sometimes guys never recapture that lightning.
In the yellow: Obviously that's why you draft someone even if they don't have film or stats to back it up. If the evaluator sees something worth cultivation, sometimes you spend that pick at the tail end of the draft, since the investment isn't all that steep. For me it's the 7th ... maybe a 6th.He was a 4th-5th rounder for me before today, and I think he'll move up a bit from there. The reality is that his size/speed ratio is crazy, and hes got some power, but he's not overly agile or quick or special in any other regard. Of course, you could say similar things, broadly, about Darren McFadden.
For others like you it's 4th or 5th, maybe 3rd - IDK.
In the orange - that's why, in conjunction with his injury and lack of production when he did step onto the field, that I'm not chomping at the bit.
Sure I see the raw athletic ability with Davis. But I've already spent enough time picking out guys like Kerwynn Williams and Ray Graham who I'd take with a draft pick, who seem already like they can step in and play in our system. Those guys seem to fit what we're doing here. Also Isi Sofele.
You know those guys are the under the radar, over-achieving types despite their athletic build. Sometimes I get a huge aversion to those guys that are the antithesis of who I just listed. The guy who has all the athletic ability in the world yet underachieves.
I understand your point though.Just not my cup of tea, unless it's for a 7th, maybe a 6th. But even then, I'd hope for value. I also know myself and I'd select someone else in the 6th and 7th, because I've got my guys, I like.
great spreadsheet for the combine

Does this raise a concern on Wheaton? Just curious.
Oregon State wide receiver Markus Wheaton ran well with a 40 time of 4.45 seconds officially. It was a top-10 time, but he had a few drops in the gauntlet drill, including an ugly one on an out route. Wheaton (5-11, 189) has a bad habit of letting the ball get into his body and that leads to the drops. He is likely to go on the second day.

I've asked a couple times...
Can someone give me honest draft expectation for Honeybadger.
Why so low, this guy is 1st round talent all day long.I would jump at 3rd round for him. He's a proven DB in SEC. Even if his character issues cause him to bust, worth upside for drafting legit top 20 talent. Kid was Heisman finalist on Defense and can play special teams in his sleep. What am I missing?????
Some of you gurus please respond
