    Default DBs at the Combine

I like Tyrann as NB. But there are other NB only types with similar/better measureables without the off the field question marks. Tyrann did make some big plays in college with fumbles forced/recovered and I don't want to minimize those. But, imo the nature of his big plays were random, timely, but random.
And specifically for this team I like our NB situation with where all 3 of our CB can play slot Hall, Wilson and Crawford might find a home there imo.
And I like Crawford as returner also.

I have Tyrann for our team as 5th rounder at best. For other teams with fewer needs and looking specifically for a NB/KR/PR then maybe 4th round.

    Re: Shamarko

'I bet nobody laughed at him when he fell' lol, i love that line
but you're right dude looks like thee bad guy
and he plays like a contact seeking missile
if any of the DBs were laughing they probably starting crying when the saw his 40 time and the realization that he just moved past them on some draft boards sank in
He looks like he start at SS day 1 and he's played some single high Cover 1/3 at Cuse
Shamarko certainly popped up on the draftnik radar
I was skeptical about the talk estimation of his speed because of his size but now that his speed/ and others lack of speed is verified he's moving up

    Other good news-
Christine Michael over slept for some team interviews
I hope this sends a terrible red flag to the rest of the league and he falls
but I doubt it his combine performance probably vaults him ahead and pushes Ball and Stepfan Taylor down

Now that the combine is over, I'm feeling like I can start to make a reasonable wish list. Of course, it all could change after free agency. For now, I'm assuming that we lose Fred Davis, Kory LIchtensteiger, Adam Carriker, and Darrell Young. So, here goes:

    2nd: Phillip Thomas, FS
    3rd: Gavin Escobar, TE
    4th: B.W. Webb, CB
    5th: Zeke Motta, SS
    5th: Oday Aboushi, OT/G
    6th: Quentin Dials, DE
    7th: Zac Line, FB

Am I out of my mind?

Keep in mind, there is one guy who will have Shamarko Thomas ALL over his radar...

Doug Marrone. The Bills will need a safety to replace George Wilson, and Thomas has familiarity with Marrone. The only caveat is what system Pettine installs.

Why the hell would you want Zeke Motta? And even if you do, you're drafting him way higher than he should be.

If we want BW Webb, we'll have to grab him in the 3rd. He's not lasting till the end of the 4th.

Does some expert here have opinion on Oregon`s S John Boyett? Apparently he played a lot of centrefield safety at oregon but will he be able do that in NFL in terms of speed etc? How low will he drop because of his injuries on both knees?

With some CBS starting to get hyped up like Slay and McGee, is it possible for Blidi Wreh-Wilson to make to the 4th? I certainly don't think he should, but strange things can happen right.

You do know that Trufant a 1st rounder right?

Cyprien is a fringe first/early second. After that I just don't like this draft. What is your rationale for how this improves the team?

Drafted 3 more mocks. Not too much difference on the back end, except where I felt the FO took a tackle in the 4th:

    Draft One.
    2nd: Cyprien, FS
    3rd: Swope, WR
    4th: Slay, CB
    5th: Square, DE
    5th: K. Williams, RB
    6th: Hawkinson, OT
    7th: Madsen, C

    Draft Two:
    2nd: Wheaton, WR
    3rd: Rambo, FS
    4th: Slay, CB
    5th: Square, DE
    5th: K. Williams, RB
    6th: Hawkinson, OT
    7th: Madsen, C

    Draft Three:
    2nd: Cyprien, FS
    3rd: Poyer, CB
    4th: Quessenberry, OT
    5th: Square, DE
    5th: K. Williams, RB
    6th: Boyce, WR
    7th: Madsen, C

    Notes:
    - Cyprien: He was rising fast, but Reid should hop over him, and might push him down to us. I think you've got Vaccaro, Elam, and Reid coming off the board by 40, but no one else, so there's a decent chance Cyprien makes it to 51.
    - Swope in the 3rd I think probably happens, he showed himself to be a taller and more athletic Welker, so the 4th is probably too late. I like him enough to take him in the 3rd.
    - Wheaton vs. Williams; I'd be fine with either, but I'm operating off the gut feeling that we're thinner at the shifty inside receiver position than the outside receiver position. It's also the reason I have Swope and Boyce in these.

That's why its a dream draft!

In all likelihood, you are right though, Trufant will likely be gone and Cyprien would be a choice at #2. But you never know, guys always fall. I don't see Cyprien in the first round. I changed it to Cyprien/Anthony.

What's wrong with the rest of it? You think we don't need help at TE/WR/RB with some line depth? Every pick of BPA helps the team.

I'm making the assumption that we will land secondary help in FA.

I just think there are better options. I don't necessarily disagree with the positions. I'll post a mock in a bit and you tell me what you think.

If your mock doesn't have David Amerson, then your mock sucks.

I don't want David Amerson. Convince me how a developmental player, and someone who might need to be moved to Safety, should be taken in the 2nd round? I don't like that grade, and mocks now have him going in the first half of the 2nd round as well, which I dislike even more.

He's really good, but his junior status does bring him into question. I think at 51 he'd be fine, but his age probably means he loses tie breakers with seniors of similar skill, and there's enough talent in this draft that there are probably ties.

    3rd- Brendan Williams NT
    3rd- Gavon Escobar TE
    4th- Samanko SS
    4th- Christine Michael RB
    5th- Brennan Williams RT
    5th- Sanders Commings CB
    6th- Mark Harrison WR
    7th- Michael Mauti ILB

    UDFA:
    Ray Ray Armstrong FS/SS
I really want that Center from Cal too. I wish we could have a good seven to eight picks in rounds 3-5. That's where a lot of value going to be at.

Imma go with the notion that we should trade our 2nd for a 3rd/4th or 3rd/5th (depending on late or early round picks)
    My scenario would be getting a 3rd/5th, then Trade a 5th for a 6/7

    Year of the Williams?

    3) Jamie Collins (OLB)
    3) Brandon WIlliams (NT)
    4) Ryan Swope (WR)
    5) Leon McFadden (CB)
    5) Brennan Williams (OT)
    6) Duke Williams (FS/SS)
    6) Chris Gragg (TE)
    7) Quanteras Smith (DE/OLB)
    7) Cooper Taylor (SS)
    UDFA - Kniles Davis (RB)
    UDFA - Michael Williams (TE)
